Blogging to the Bank 2.0. Reviewed

Friday, May 14th, 2010

Rob Benwell starts Blogging to the Bank 2.0. by looking back at the 16 months since the release of the original Blogging to the Bank. Rob discusses the impression this release had on blogs (particularly Blogger blogs) and how this led to the creation of his five blogging commandments. The five blogging commandments are what Rob believes are elemental for your blogs success and provide an overview of the total ebook. Obviously, I cannot spoil Rob’s ebook by revealing them here but they do contain some excellent information to keep your visitors coming back and reading your blog. After this introduction Rob gets into the main body of his ebook.

Rob starts by discussing Market Research & Keyphrase Lists. This is a very vital stage as it ultimately determines what you will be blogging about. Rob emphasises the importance of taking your time and discusses how you can find affiliate harvest using ClickBank. He also describes how to to do some basic keyword research using a couple of free tools. Overall, I found this chapter to be a fantastic introduction to affiliate marketing and in particular keyword research. Previous to reading the chapter I knew nearly nothing about keyword research and whilst I’m still no expert I now know the basics of optimising my blog and its pages.

Rob then moves on to discuss making your blog. First, he outlines how to really install your blog. Then he moves on to discuss the four options available to you when getting content for your blog. After this he outlines how to optimise, monetise and ping your blog. Overall, this section of Blogging to the Bank 2.0 contains a lot of excellent information. I was particularly impressed by Rob’s use of screenshots and instructions to clarify his thoughts. I’m a huge fan of screenshots and feel they really help beginners. The section on monetisation was also a real help for me too. My main criticism of this section was that Rob does not clarify how to automate the pinging of your blog. This is a relatively simple process but for some reason Rob ignores it.

If you have followed Rob’s instructions up to this point you should have your blog ready to go. Logically, Rob goes on to outline how you can promote your blog and get some traffic. The topics he covers in this section include basic promotion techniques (including article syndication, forum marketing and link exchanges) and Web 2.0. techniques. Web 2.0. is a phrase that describes the trend in web development towards creativity, collaboration and sharing between users (excellent examples of successful Web 2.0. websites are Facebook and YouTube). Whilst the basic promotion techniques are excellent, I was very impressed with the Web 2.0. section. Previous to reading this chapter I had stuck primarily to article marketing but now I have my first Squidoo lens out there and I am getting a lot of extra traffic from social bookmarking sites. My main criticism about this chapter is the section on DIGG (a social bookmarking site). Whilst Rob did open my eyes to a very excellent resource he did not make it clear that DIGG will ban you if you just submit your own blog posts, which is what happened to me.

Rob finishes his ebook by discussing some advanced techniques including outsourcing the creation of your blogs, making your own product in the market you are blogging for and even selling your blog. I have not tried any of the techniques in this section yet but I am plotting on making some of my own harvest to sell to my blog readers.

In close, I would highly recommend Blogging to the Bank 2.0. if you are looking to start your first blog, or even get more serious with your current blogging. After reading Rob’s ebook I chose to make my first serious blog (i.e. a blog in a niche topic that I would be updating evenly) and whilst I am not making nearly enough to retire on, I am generating an increased amount of traffic and revenue each month as a direct result of Rob’s techniques. My main criticisms of Blogging to the Bank 2.0. are that Rob seems to miss certain things out. A section on how to ping your blog involuntarily would have been really useful to some readers and there are a number of helpful WordPress plugins I have come across that Rob does not feature in his ebook. But, these are only small criticisms. By following the instructions inside Blogging to the Bank 2.0. I believe a relative beginner could reasonably easily get a monetised blog online in a fleeting period of time.

Blog Your Way to the Bank: Effective Marketing Tool

Tuesday, February 2nd, 2010

Blogging is a concept that started in late 90s. It used to be a way to comment an existing webpage, an opportunity for visitors and readers to react or voice out one’s opinion on the said page. What started as a single-condemn commentary has evolved into pages of personal take on just about anything and everything under the sun. As it continues to go forward, online advertising has tapped into the blog’s potential.  What makes blogging an effectual Internet marketing tool? This article clarifies why and how you can use blogs to market and earn and income.

Blogging is simple. The simplest way to get your piece on the net is through blogging. No skills are necessary; an average adult can read and type, or at least click a mouse. It’s like having a virtual piece of paper and you just write your thoughts, experiences, new harvest, and hope that the truth behind your articles comes out and entice your reader to also try your product. If you have a PC and an Internet connection then you can blog and make known.

Blogging is authentic. In this day and age where advertising saturate our lives, we question the credibility of promoters’ claims. But, in blogs, real people share their real-life experiences, unscathed by paid advertising. Reading blogs about first-hand product use is like talking to people about their first-hand experience. You certainly want to buy a tried and tested product.

Blogging is free. Because blogging is yet to be proven as a mainstream online advertising media, most sites see it as a touch to augment current marketing tools and thus place forward it for free. Any opportunity for free web time is certainly a bonus especially to businesses that are early up. Needless to say, paid blog pages can generate more income for your seriously growing business.

Blogging builds credibility. As you get more and more into writing your experiences on a particular product or industry, your readers come to realize that they can depend on your posts for their own information needs. As such, you become an expert on it; as a consequence, more readers stay your site and more bloggers link to your blogs. As companies and qualified organizations notice the growth of your readership base, they may soon get in touch with you for advertising on your blog page, or make you an affiliate, which pays for every referral generated from your blog site.

Blogging builds your market. Unless you are a Hollywood star, chances are, only your Mom reads your posts. Mom has a lot of acquaintances, so she lets her acquaintances know how appealing your blog site is.  But you need not depend on Mom to increase your readership base.

You can market through blogging by the following ways:

By using your e-mail. Today, blogging is overcoming the e-mail’s popularity in quickly and effectively reaching and expanding a market. In this age of speed and quick access, logging in and downloading e-mail is simply taking longer than clicking into a blog site.  Let them explore your site by using a fleeting e-mail message as teaser to your blog site. If your e-mail is on an completely different subject, use your e-mail signature to give a link to the site.

By using subscription. An simple way to get your readers e-mail is to give them an opportunity to subscribe to your blog site. Keep some exclusive information for your subscribers to entice readers to subscribe and give their e-mail address. Just be responsible in using their e-mail address, as the last thing you want is a comment on your blog that you are a spammer.

By understanding your readers. Conduct a simple survey for your readers to know their profile and advertising preferences. Question consumers to give you pointer on a post, an ad link, or a trial that you mutual. In this way, it is like interviewing your readers without the stanchness and intrusion of a face-to-face interview.

By unification a blog network. A network of blogs maybe a collection of blog sites that share the same industry, interest, readership base, payment mode, etc.  Consumers find credibility and convenience in clicking one link to several real bloggers about a single subject. Clearly, more bloggers are better than one.

By using RSS. RSS is the fastest growing technology on the Internet today. As such, having RSS feeds to your blog is certainly a further means of generating awareness for your readership base. Having a variety of feeds can add interest to your blog site.

Give your business a boost by effectively using blogging as an Internet marketing tool.

Friday, January 22nd, 2010

We have all heard the name previous to, whether it was by a friend or in the news.  Twitter is becoming the fastest and simplest way to explode your online business.  It doesn’t topic if you are growing an MLM, real estate, construction, or any other kind of business.  Twitter is the new ago of marketing and social media.  Twitter was urban in 2006, by Jack Dorsey, Evan Williams and Biz Stone.  Twitter is the number one way to explode your business if done the right way.  With Twitter you have the ability to generate niche specified leads for your business.  It as simple as 4 steps

1.  Account Set-up

The first step is set up an account on Twitter.  This account will be for your business. Make sure it is not a mixture of personal and business.  I will clarify why later in steps 2 & 3.  You can do this by stopping by Twitter’s homepage.  Now previous to you set up an account.  Take some time to reckon about a username.  When picking a name, it is very vital because you’re going to be branding yourself with it.  It could be your name, a business name, what ever it is, make sure you have place so thought into it.  Once that is finished, you will set up how your site looks through the settings option tab.  You will want to go in to your settings and personalize it.  Make it who you are and what you are about.  Remember we are branding ourselves by our username, picture, and the way our site looks.  Upload a background, the more custom the better.  Then add your URL (should be the url to your blog.  But, can be your company Url).  Also add your one line profile.  The profile should be appealing and about who you are.  After you are finished completing your profile, you are ready to add your picture.  When count your picture, make sure it is a picture of you.  Most people will not follow a name if they don’t have a picture.  Also remember you are branding yourself.  If done the right way, when people see your picture, your name, website url or slogan somewhere on the web.  They will involuntarily associate it with you.  This is a very powerful way to be a chief and authority online.

2. Getting people to follow you.

Now that you have taken the time to set up your Twitter account to brand you, you are ready to add followers.  This is one of the most vital steps in this article so pay close attention.  When you are count followers, you don’t want to add everyone and anyone.  You want to add people who are in your line of work.  So if you are involved in real estate.  You will only follow and be followed by people in real estate.  If you are involved in MLM, you will only follow people involved in MLM.  There are two reasons for this method.  The first is you want to make niche specified leads.  The second is if you start following your acquaintances with this same account.  Once you go over 2,000 followers.  It will be hard to keep up with their direct messages and tweets.  Now your ready to build your following.  This is very simple to do; you will start by count 300 people a day until you reach 2,000 followers.  Once you reach 2,000 followers, every other day you will want to go back and un follow anyone who isn’t following you back.  The reason for this is once you get up to 2000 people.  If your following’s are much higher they your followers, Twitter will not let you follow any more people, until more follow you.  So make sure to permanently un follow people if they don’t follow you back.  That’s it, that’s how simple it is to get followers.

3. Becoming an Information source

Now that you are building a strong following, you are going to add value to their life and businesses.  See if you want to people to read your tweets and click on your links.  You will need to start small.  For the first three weeks, peep well-known motivational quotes with no links attached.  After that share excellent information with those following you, this can be any info you can find online.  Some excellent places for info could be Google, Articles and You Tube.  You will want to search these places and more to find fantastic information.  Once you have found it, peep it to your followers and add a link to that site.  Now I know this sounds crazy, but if this info you’re sharing helps your followers.  They will hold you as a person of value and start reading more of your tweets.  Also they will re-peep and share it with others.  Then they will want to know more about you and they will click your personal link on your Twitter homepage to find out who you are.  So you will want your that link to send them to your blog.  Then on your blog you will place links to your biz opp.  This is the first way to generate leads for your business.

4.  Generating Leads

Now that you have built a following and have added value, the second way will be once a name follows you.  You will want to send them a touch free as a thank you for following you.  There are many things you can find online that are free.  It could be a free self help eBook on your field or their field of business.  But make sure it is of fantastic value.  So, once you have found your gift.  When you see a name has followed you back.  You will send them a Direct Message.  The message will say, “thanks for following me, look forward to your tweets.  Please apart from my free gift.  (add link to your splash page).”  They will then click on the link and be sent to your splash that you produced to get their free gift.  If you don’t know how to make a splash page, use Google or YouTube to find out how.  After you have built and completed your splash page.  At the bottom of your splash page you will need to insert an information capture box, to capture peoples’ information.  This box will be attached to your auto responder (like aweber).  If you don’t know how to set up an auto-responder, use Google or YouTube to find out.  Once you have captured their info with your auto-responder.  This is called building a list.  It is one of the most powerful ways to build your online business empire.  In the first message sent by your responder, you will have the link to the free e-book.  Then all you have to do is write more messages that give value to the people on your list.  This info can be all about your business or a mixture of both.  You will want to send at least ten messages.  These messages will take up again to repeat forever or until they opt out.  Also, you can permanently add messages later on.

Well now you know how to set up your account.  You know how to add followers.  You know how to generate leads and make a list.  All you have to do now is place it into action.  This will be the simplest step of them all.  Just go do it, start with a touch and permanently take up again to revise.  It doesn’t topic if you fail.  Just permanently remember to fail forward.
