How to Article marketing is a big topic with so many questions in mind. But in this article, Iâ??d like to answer to one of frequently asked questions about article promotion: â??Should I submit articles to only do-follow article directories?â?, â??Should I consider no-follow, but higher pagerank article marketing directories too?â?. As an experienced article marketer and SEO expert, Iâ??d like to answer to these questions in detail:Â

How to Article Marketing: Should I use to only do-follow article directories for regular article submission?Â

To be honest, do-follow sites are more beneficial for your article marketing than no-follow article directories. Why? â?? Because one way quality backlinks from do-follow, especially high PR sites always work for getting higher pagerank on Google within a shorter time. But here you may ask:Â

What, if some of popular article directories are no-follow?Â

Here I donâ??t want to argue that those article promotion sites are useless or less useful than do-follow article marketing directories. No! I myself use a combined list of do-follow and no-follow article directories for my daily article submission. So here is the full answer to the question:Â

Should I consider no-follow, but higher pagerank article marketing directories too?Â

Yes, you should! Why? â?? Because sometimes no-follow, high pr article directories can be even more beneficial than do-follow content directories. For example, articlesbase is nofollow, but I regularly use this article marketing directory to get my articles to the 1st page of Google within hours. This content site is the best alternative to dofollow, PR6 ezinearticles which has strict policy. It might take at least 5-7 days to get published there.Â

Conclusion:Â

How to Article marketing guide includes a number of important moments you should certainly consider while submitting articles to top article directories.

Â

The general consensus among professional internet marketers contends that .edu and .gov links carry addition weight compared to ordinary .com links. Itâ??s easy to see why search engines trust these types of sites given their increased authority. The goal here is to participate in blogs and forums to increase your backlinks and thus your ranking. In this post Iâ??ll be covering the relevant challenges, tips and benefits to .gov blog commenting.

You can easily find a slew of government blogs by typing into the Google search bar: â??site: .gov blogâ? or more specifically â??site: .gov business blogâ?. This command tells Google to search for all the blog websites and end in .gov and that relate to business. This simple tip would be great if you just wanted to read government blogs for leisure. Trust me, that is not me. As marketers we want to participate in blog or forum commenting primarily for backlinks which in turn will boost our search engine ranking.

The main challenge and time-consuming task is finding .gov sites that are dofollow in nature. Dofollow is just internet slang for a site not containing the â??nofollowâ? tag in its source code. You can find this out a couple ways. I like using the SearchStatus Firefox add-on which can automatically highlight in red a pageâ??s nofollow links. The manual way is to review the source code by pressing control-U and then control-F to search for the term â??nofollowâ?. Finding a nofollow tag inside the <a rel="nofollow" onclick="javascript:pageTracker._trackPageview('/outgoing/article_exit_link');" href=â?website nameâ?â?¦> anchor text essentially means that your .gov site passes on no pagerank or â??link juiceâ? to your site and thus no value in Googleâ??s eyes.

You can individually sort through the thousands of .gov sites looking for the dofollow ones. Or you can review the short list I included on my blog. These are some of the oneâ??s that Iâ??ve used lately and that work. However, I must caution you. Spammers and comment generating computer programs should stay away. Many of these sites still have comment moderators that can easily delete your comment. While the topic may not identically match your given niche, be sure to demonstrate a personal, genuine touch. Giving your honest opinion on a topic instead of leading with your affiliate link is the general rule of thumb.

Most of sites require registration first. Create a profile and a signature file (for comments) containing your web address.  Include your link in comments by using anchor text or your signature file. You can confirm your dofollow backlinks by referencing the source codes which omit the nofollow tags. Visit my blog and search â??.govâ? to watch a tutorial video.

I always wonder why some marketers do not consider whether the article directories they submit their articles to are do-follow or no-follow. This is very important when it comes to building quality backlinks to get to the first pages of Google, Yahoo and other popular search engines.

Did you know that some article directories, add nofollow to all links in your articles? That, of course, makes your backlinks less quality. Google even does not consider such no-follow links. So it means while submitting a lot of articles to such no-follow content directory sites you are wasting your valuable time in vain and losing 50 % or even more traffic to your sites.

In other words, it would be smarter to use top 10 do-follow lower pagerank article directories than top 50 no-follow higher pagerank content directory sites.

So here is my list of Top 10 Do-Follow Article Directories With Higher Pagerank:

Note: All of these content directory sites are dot com, I could not post the links due to articlesbase guidelines.

As you see, if done properly, article writing and marketing can be a great way of gaining quality do-follow backlinks to your website, and in turn, achieving better rankings in the most popular search engines, like Google, Yahoo, MSN, etc. Why to waste your time with no-follow article directories while top ten do-follow article directories would enough to maximize your traffic and profit?
