Everything You Need To Know About Green Energy

Friday, May 28th, 2010

Green energy refers to the use of power that is not only more well-organized than fossil fuel but that is friendly to the environment as well. Green energy is generally certain as energy sources that dont pollute and are renewable.
There are several categories of green energy (GE). They are anaerobic digestion, wind power, geothermal power, hydropower on a small scale, biomass power, solar power and wave power. Waste incineration can even be a source of green energy.
Nuclear power plants claim that they produce green energy as well, though this source is fraught with controversy, as we all know. While nuclear energy may be sustainable, may be considered renewable and does not pollute the atmosphere while it is producing energy, its waste does pollute the biosphere as it is released.
The transport, mining and phases previous to and after production of nuclear energy does produce and release carbon dioxide and similar destructive greenhouse gases. When we read of green energy, therefore, we rarely see nuclear power included.
Those who support nuclear energy say that nuclear waste is not, in fact, released into our earths biosphere during its habitual production cycle. They stress as well that the carbon dioxide that nuclear energy production releases is akin, in terms of each kilowatt hour of electricity, to such sources of GE as wind power.
As an example of the GE production the average wind turbine, such as the one in Reading England, can produce enough energy daily to be the only energy source for 1000 households.
Many countries now place forward household and commercial consumers to opt for total use of green energy. They do this one of two ways. Consumers can buy their electricity from a company that only uses renewable green energy technology, or they can buy from their general supplies such as the local utility company who then buys from GE resources only as much of a supply as consumers pay for.
The latter is generally a more cost – well-organized way of supplying a home or office with GE, as the supplier can reap the fiscal benefits of a mass buy. Green energy generally expenditure more per kilowatt hour than standard fossil fuel energy.
Consumers can also buy green energy certificates, which are alternately referred to as green tags or green certificates. These are available in both Europe and the United States, and are the most convenient method for the average consumer to support green energy. More than 35 million European households and one million American households now buy these GE certificates.
While GE is a fantastic step in the management of keeping our environment healthy and our air as pollutant free as possible, it must be noted that no topic what the energy, it will negatively impression the environment to some extent.
Every energy source, green or otherwise, requires energy. The production of this energy will make pollution during its manufacture. Green energys impression is minimal, but.

Social Networking Changed Everything – The New Marketing & PR Model

Tuesday, January 26th, 2010

Itâ??s pretty obvious that the marketing of today has changed. You have newspapers going virtual/web only, Twitter and Facebook replacing postcards and phone calls, and potential clients now being the main target of your press releases as opposed to editors. Itâ??s all varying and to do PR today, you need to exchange with it. The excellent news is that itâ??s never been simpler. The terrible news, you need to learn a new way to do things. Fortunately, there are tips that can make it simpler and Iâ??m here to show you a few.

First, no one can deny the power of social networking. And those that do are just plain incorrect. Iâ??ve been in business since 1985 and I liken this to way back when emails became a way of life. Many still contended they wanted to do it the ancient fashioned way and nothing would beat a letter. (I know itâ??s hard to even imagine this today.) It wasnâ??t long until they realized their error, but by then their competition was way ahead of them. Donâ??t make the same mistake now. You unquestionably need to get with it and get on board. I can practically guarantee you within weeks youâ??ll be hooked and wondering why you ever hesitated. Itâ??s so simple, and the potential so fantastic, you need to start today.

Letâ??s break it down. Twitter first. Forget all the â??I donâ??t care what they ate for lunch excuses,â? thatâ??s where your competition and peers are and you do need to be there too. Sure you do have a few tweeters who will update you on the newest hot dog they ate, but thatâ??s rare. What you do have is more and more businesses networking and connecting with each other in ways never thought possible. Itâ??s also more than just networking back and forth, you can have chats, host events, get more publicity for your articles and press releases and even announce your seminars and radio shows. And thatâ??s not even the half of it. There are entire books written on this, so my first recommendation is to get them. Why struggle and find your way around when you can easily read the tips from those who know exactly what you need to succeed.

Also, while you are getting your feet wet, donâ??t jump in and start posting and selling and ranting and raving. Take it slow. Sign up, take a sit, remain silent for a fleeting time and read what others are posting. Follow the leaders in your industry and take advantage of their knowledge. It can nearly feel like walking around with them all day and looking over their shoulders for their secrets. Whatâ??s cool is they give their tips unreservedly, why wouldnâ??t you want to take advantage of that? As an example, if a name were looking for information on early a virtual assistant business or getting publicity for their business, they could follow me at Twitter.com/dianaennen.

Now the key many forget is that not only do you need to follow them, you need to listen earnestly to what they are saying. Go to the sites they recommend. Really do the things they suggest. And most importantly, if you have the opportunity to contribute and honestly have a touch of importance to say, do! Even if they arenâ??t following you, once you list their twitter name @name, it will go to them. Best yet, you might get a retreat or even better a RT and follow back. As many say, those are the ultimate compliments.

Now itâ??s vital to learn the social media lingo â?? Hashtags, Retweets, Fans, Follow Friday, this is just a few of the many names you need to know to do business better. It can be overwhelming. No, in fact it is overwhelming. But, if you keep it simple and take it a step at a time, you can do it. When you see a term you donâ??t know, look it up right then. Write down your interpretation and do the investigating to find out more about it. Here are just a few to help you on your journey.

Whatâ??s a retweet? Thatâ??s when you find somoneâ??s information useful and you want to pass it onto your followers. So in the end RT (retweet) is excellent content that you pass on. Many RT just to RT. Donâ??t be one of them. You know your followers and what they want and need, thatâ??s what you should be RTâ??ing. We highly recommend signing up for TweetDeck for ease in doing this. A click of a button and you are there.

Next you need to know about Follow Friday. This is certainly one of my favorites. Reckon of Follow Friday as your day networking at a business get-together, only better. You get to stay in the comfort of your own home, and you get to immediately make the relations, not when you get home with a handful of business cards. Try and plot your week so you can participate. Remember this can be even more effectual than a Chamber meeting or an expensive business seminar. So plot a lighter load on Friday when possible. You want people to mention you so mention them. Also, donâ??t just list 20 screens of twitter names that you want people to follow. Tell your followers why they should follow them. What do they place forward that your followers would be interested in? Remember to place #followfriday in your posting. (By the way, see that # in followfriday. Thatâ??s what is called a hashtag. Cool huh!) And irrevocably, you want people to retweet your followfriday postings, so keep your count to 120 instead of 140 so they can easily do this. In fact, do this for all tips or postings you want retweeted.

Try and post on Friday mornings. I donâ??t know about the rest of you, but Iâ??ll evenly go down my postings to find those I want to list. I know I want to list them previous to hand so itâ??s not that Iâ??m just going down my acquaintances column, but evenly times I donâ??t have their information readily available. By posting on Friday you are giving it to them.

Irrevocably, sign up for Trilalerts for your keywords. Start following those of interest. For example, Iâ??m a virtual assistant, so Iâ??ve signed up for virtual assistant updates. Now I can follow other virtual assistants easily. I do the same for Publicity, etc. Who do you want to connect with? Thatâ??s who you sign up for. Follow the media. Sign up for Facebook and Twitter for the newspapers and TV stations in your area. Look for business reporters who tweak and follow them. Learn their style and what they are looking for in their articles.

Also, follow some of the owners of the many article and press release directories who peep. Some of the best are on there and giving away secrets to success left and right.

Facebook is pretty self explanatory. The key here is to spend some time to expand your network. Fortunately you get notices when a name responds to your posts, so try and go and follow-up as soon as you can. But, be careful that you donâ??t get sidetracked doing this too evenly. Build relationships. You can have thousands of acquaintances and fans, but can you honestly connect to all of them. I know I sure canâ??t. Twitter also now allows your tweets to be sent to your Facebook page too. This is certainly a plus. Just make sure that you donâ??t do this to all of your postings, only the ones you feel would interest your acquaintances on Facebook.

Article Submissions, Press Release Submissions – I also say you need to send out articles and press releases religiously. Many question how some succeed with this and others donâ??t. Whatâ??s the difference? The main thing is that they know what to do. They realize the difference that page ranking can make and donâ??t waste their time on sites that donâ??t get results. They sign up for Google Alerts under their keywords and then check out the sites that frequently get spidered. Then they send to those places and add those sites to their database. We do have a fabulous PR informational package that is free to anyone who emails us.

Marketing a business and social networking doesnâ??t have to be expensive if you just remember to network and use all the tools available to you. In fact, it can be fun as you get to meet new people and develop new ways to sell you and your business. Also, keep in mind if you donâ??t want to do it yourself, there are brilliant qualified pros and virtual assistants available to help. You donâ??t need to do it all. You just need to do it!

The Big Google Pagerank Slap – Perception is Everything

Monday, January 11th, 2010

Copyright (c) 2007 Titus Hoskins

Recently Google did a major PageRank update where a lot of sites were downgraded. Many experts believe this PageRank update was Google’s response to link selling – sites which sell links lost points in their PageRank.

Google measures all web pages on a scale of importance from 0 to 10, which is shown in a small green pixel bar on browsers carrying the Google Toolbar. PageRank is “supposedly” measured by the number of backlinks to your site.

Online democracy in action, a link is a vote for your site. The more votes you have the higher your site is ranked. At least that’s how it was supposed to work until a lot of high PR sites started selling links and place a monkey wrench into the total system.

The newest update may be a smart go on Google’s part to curtail this practice; who’s going to buy a link from a PR2 or even a PR4 site? Besides this could be more than a warning that your site will go down even further if you take up again to sell links.

Now this is more of a cosmetic exchange in PageRank than a real exchange in your right rankings in Google. Just because your PR goes down doesn’t mean your keyword rankings or traffic from Google also goes down.

I saw some of my sites go up, some stayed the same, but my major site took a huge hit – falling from PR6 to PR4. This was more of a devastating blow than I expected mainly for psychological reasons than actual consequences. After years of building the best content you can muster and constantly getting feature one-way links, to see that PageRank drop was very disappointing and hits to the core of your online work.

I have been around for a while so I have experienced many Google Updates – anyone remember the Florida Update? I also keep my ears peeled to discussions of the newest updates in Webmasterworld and Stompernet, and I even read Matt Cutts when I get real worried… so I knew not to panic just because of the sudden drop in PageRank.

I also knew what most of the SEO experts were saying was right because my major keywords stayed the same and my Google traffic really went up. But that’s small comfort when you’re talking about Google; you immediately go into overdrive and try to figure out where you went incorrect. What caused the drop – because whether PageRank is meaningless or not, you’re still going in the incorrect management.

I saw many of my competitors drop too, but many stayed the same and even a few increased in PageRank. What are they doing right; what am I doing incorrect? I don’t sell links but does Google reckon I am selling links was my main concern? I even went one outdoor link from my main page to a further part of my site, just in case Google is mistaking that as a paid link.

Welcome to webmaster’s paranoid hell!

For SEO reasons I have very few outdoor links on my main page. Can’t see why Google downgraded my main site. I have been at PR6 for years.

Herein lies my main beef, with Google you never really know where you stand; you are constantly walking on eggshells. No topic how excellent your content or your site is – one misstep and you could be in the doghouse. All your hard work can be taken away in a heartbeat.

It wouldn’t topic so much if it was one of the other two major search engines downgrading your site but this is Google.

Free organic traffic from Google is vital to any online site or business. I would take traffic from Google over any other source of traffic on the web, apart from for traffic coming from my articles on other sites, and even that traffic probably originated from a search in Google.

Google and Google PageRank have permanently been vital to me – that’s one of the reasons a sudden large drop causes so much concern. There’s a further vital reason Google PageRank is vital to me.

Most SEO experts mistakenly believe PageRank is meaningless because Google is not giving us the right ranking of any site or revealing all the backlinks, which is supposedly one of the major factors in how Google ranks sites. While this fact is obviously right, it has caused many to jump to a further close.

Because Google is not giving us the real ranking, many webmasters have dismissed PageRank as a vital element in their sites. Don’t make the same mistake.

Google PageRank is extremely vital if you’re doing business on the web. The higher PR you have, the better. But it has nothing to do with keyword rankings or first page SERPs.

What many SEO experts fail to realize (not really their business) is the total “perceived” value of PageRank.

Google, despise it or like it, has become the most respected company on the web in the eyes of the majority of the web’s users. It carries enormous weight and prestige. The “perceived” value of a high PR7 or PR8 is extremely valuable.

We are not talking about link selling; we are talking about how a perspective business partner or customer will treat your site or business.

Say you have two identical sites you want to do business with online and you learn one is a Google PR2 site and the other is a Google PR8 site – which one would you choose to do business with? Honestly?

From first-hand experience, I know any online company or peddler will get more business offers and be offered more partnerships/joint ventures if you have a high Google PR site than a low one. It will make a difference to your bottom line.

PageRank is vital. PageRank has meaning. Even if it has small bearing on your SERPs rankings or Google traffic, PageRank can greatly influence the success of your online site or venture. Don’t ignore or dismiss PageRank as a meaningless relic that didn’t reasonably work out as Google had plotted for it in the first place.

High PageRank will permanently be valuable.

The day Google gives its own site a PageRank of PR1 or PR2 instead of the current PR10 – that’s the day you can dismiss PageRank as truly meaningless.

Everything you Wanted to Know About Expired Domain

Wednesday, December 9th, 2009

Every day hundreds of domain names become expired and become owner-less due to some reasons. An expired domain that is useless for a name may become usable and beneficial for others! An expired domain can place forward several unique advantages and benefits for the person who uses it. Right now, increasing numbers of people are flocking together to own expired domains just to make a huge wealth and unlimited profits out of them. Intelligent and smart entrepreneurs are also using an expired domain as a tool to expand their online business operations and functions.

What exactly is an expired domain? There are several explanations that define what an expired domain really is. But, in simple terms an expired domain is a domain, by now used by its previous owner, but abandoned and left orphaned due to some unknown reasons. Similarly, an expired domain name is not used currently by anyone. It could also be termed as a domain that is quickly approaching its renewal date. In other words, it could also be termed as “soon to be expired” domain name, while a domain that is past its fixed renewal date without the renewal subscription fees paid out is termed “an expired domain”.

In real terms, an expired domain could be anything in its nature like:

- It could have been a well-urban web site in its previous avatar.

- It could have been a web site that was well promoted and advertised by the previous owner.

- It could have been a well placed web site in the most standard search engines.

- It could have also been actively linked to different web sites and directories.

- It could have also been associated with a number of business deals and partnerships.

- It could have also been the huge compendium of plenty of reciprocal links attached to it.

- It could have also been a web site that changed several ownerships in the previous months.

A domain can become expired due to several reasons and factors like:

- Lack of cash resources to run and manage the web site

- Lack of required funds to renew the domain name

- Incorrect and invalid email addresses that can result in bounced mails.

- The owner loosing interest in the web site itself.

- A domain can also expire as a result of business closures and shutdowns.

- Sheer lack of knowledge and ignorance about the real value of domains

- Unknowingly forgetting to renew the domain name.

The overall control or ownership or dominance of a particular web domain is granted only for a limited period of time of one to two years. But, the ownership also comes with certain critical riders like:

- The owner will follow the right and prescribed registration procedures

- The owner will pay the prescribed renewal fees on time and within the fixed deadline.

By chance, if the owner of the domain either declines or forgets to pay the prescribed renewal fees within the deadline, the said domain will soon expire and become an expired domain. Once a domain becomes expired, it will soon go back to the pool of unregistered domain names; ultimately, such a domain will be announced for open sale or auction to the general public. Though, subscribers register their domain names for one or two years, it is also possible to retain the ownership of the domain name for a period of two years or more. For such a lengthy period of registration, one can avail a generous amount of discounts and rebates for the domain name of choice.

An expired domain could be your goldmine of brilliant business opportunities and chances. One of the largest benefits of owning or buying an expired domain name is its capacity to set up a source of constant income. If you are looking for a viable business opportunity or if you have been searching for increased web traffic or when you want to sell your domain for a sustained profit, then an expired domain could the timely answer!
