Monday, June 21st, 2010Project Traffic! for Your Niche Site – Leveraging on Forum Participation & Branding
Monday, January 25th, 2010In this next section of Project Traffic! (not an affiliate program) we shall discuss the â??How Toâ? with individual focus of some of the tactics in detail.
Forum Participation & Marketing is In Focus at Project Traffic!
Online Forums are excellent places to interact and Forum participation. If done right, your participation becomes a natural marketing tool and can be very effectual branding as well.
The Benefits of Forums Participation are essentially the following:
A Platform for Viral Marketing. The power of the Word of mouth of forum is both lateral and simultaneous when leveraged using the forum approach. This takes the form of viral marketing which very quickly and effectively spreads the word for you and your product offerings.
That is, if you are excellent, or for that topic, terrible, you will be distinction or notorious in no time at all! And of course, the excellent or the terrible you have done would be circulating virally within as well as outside of the forum. Afterall, cyberspace sees no boundaries. Thinking positive, try imagining the amount of traffic you drive to your site.
Check Demand with Test Marketing. So you have a fantastic thought, product or service. But you are not sure whether they will sell. Tactfully bring up the topic of your offerings at your niche forum and trigger discussion. Let others give their opinion.
This platform serves as a quick test and you are then able to get an overall perspective of how well your thought or product is accepted, assuming of course that the forumers are expressive of your intended niche segments.
To enhance this process and your statistics, search out a minimum of 10 niche committed forums and float your product thoughts. You might even get improvement suggestions that catapult your sales.
Connect, Network and Build Industry Relationships Be in the know, be seen, be heard, be felt! Essentially, you need to be seen as being on your toes when you network with other forumers within the industry. This is all about branding and positioning yourself in the forums as an authority or expert in a certain area.
In fact, if done correctly, branding you or your product offerings could even take you offline from your online activities and help you connect and grow with real industry experts. It takes some effort as in all relationship building activities, but this does have long term benefits for your business and cannot be ignored.
Make Direct Sales Opportunities. Note that the operative word here is â??Make … Opportunitiesâ?. Never should you frankly sell your harvest at the forums and this is a taboo in most forums. Have respect for the forum master, your fellow forumers who are there to interact.
If you wish to sell, make a subtle link at your signature or sign off. Sales is a by-product of your forum participation activities which should Not be your priority. Referrals, Self-Branding, future long term traffic flow are your key objectives. Stay tuned for the next session at Project Traffic!
The Importance of Forum Marketing
Friday, January 22nd, 2010Forums, also known as Discussion Groups or Online Bulletin Boards, are fantastic places to meet people from all over the world with similar wellbeing. Building bonds with such people can verify to be very fruitful for your business because as you build trust with your fellow forum members and establish yourself as a name who is knowledgeable, you can potentially earn new customers and partners for your business. In order to be successful using forums there are some things you should keep in mind.
1. Join forums that are in some way related to what you are marketing or the type of business model you are using. For example, if you are an Internet Peddler and/or Network Peddler you should search forums that cater to either or both and join somewhere from 2 to 5 of them, maybe more. It is perfectly up to you and the time you have available to dedicate to forum marketing. There are countless forums online and it is impossible to stay all of them, so select a handful that really meet your needs, and stay them evenly.
2. Choose the most standard forums. A simple Google search with relevant keywords will give you a excellent thought of which ones to target. There is no point wasting your time and energy on forums that have very few members and few posts. Page raking, the amount of committed members, the number of posts, and how evenly new posts are added are the simplest ways to check for this.
3. Choose forums that allow signature tags. If it’s possible, read the rules previous to unification and pay attention to them. It is better to find out that a forum doesn’t allow posts with signature tags previous to you go through the entire signup process. Most forums do allow them so this shouldn’t be a major issue, but, some only allow you to post your signature tag (and other outdoor links) after you have made a minimum number of posts, so be prepared. It’s usually a minimum of 10-20 posts on average so it’s not a huge deal. The forum administrators are just trying to make people post useful content rather than blatantly make known their website/business. There are way too many people simply doing this and it cheapens the purpose of unification forums, so adhere to the codes of conduct in each discussion group. Fault to do so may get your posts deleted, or in extreme cases your account being closed and you being banned.

4. Once you are allowed to link your website in your signature box, do so, and do so after every post. The ultimate thing is to limit yourself to one link, preferably to your main business website where you are promoting harvest/air force or your business opportunity. If you have a blog, you may want to link that as well so your readers can still learn more about you and what you are doing, even if they are not ready to become your customers or business partners just yet.
5. Stay the forums you join evenly. Get to know some of the other members and with time, feel free to mention them by name in some of your posts to build your relationships as you would in person. It will help bring about a real significance of camaraderie. Plot to spend at least an hour each day on forum marketing. It may sound like a lot but it really isn’t. Just reading through several topics and deciding which ones you will add a touch useful to takes time. Early your own threads is also vital to show that you are not only capable of answering a name else’s discussion topic, but that you are also excellent at opening up the floor to discussions based on your own thoughts. This demonstrates initiative and leadership. Being a member of multiple forums you may want to rotate the ones you stay so that you can stay 1 or 2 different ones each day and still manage to post 3-5 intelligent posts in each room. This will make your efforts feel less repetitive and spark more creativity. This way you will still be able to stay your forums each and every week. Previous to you know it your presence in the forums will grow and your links will attract more and more interested parties.
If you engage in proper conduct your name and business will gain tremendous exposure without you ever having to pitch anyone on anything. This is the essence of ”Attraction Marketing”. People will be drawn to you and then your business by extension. They will do so because you have proven yourself to be intelligent, personable, and most of all trust worthy. Honour and integrity are everything in business and in life, so place your best foot forward and treat others as you wish to be treated. This is a recipe for success and you will reap the benefits with time. Success!

Traffic Tips: Forum Advertising
Monday, January 18th, 2010SPREADING THE WORD .. LITERALLY Forum advertising is probably THE greatest form of “non advertising – advertising” that you will ever find. If that sounds like a lot of dual talk, it’s not. Let me clarify. Forums, especially the very standard ones, can bring you more sales, if done right, than any other form of advertising on the Internet. But you have to be patient because this isn’t a touch that you can just dive right into. What exactly are forums? Well, they’re places where lots of people hang out. There are forums for just about every niche in existence. If you were to just type in the word “Forum” in a Google search box you’d get over 1 billion results. You heard me correctly, 1 billion. Reckon there isn’t going to be a forum for your niche? Trust me, there will be unless your niche is underwater pole-vaulting. Most forums are members only. Meaning, in order to participate in the forum discussion, you have to sign up. They’ll question you for your name and email and some other info and then most will send you a confirmation email that you have to either comeback to or click some link in to verify that you’re a real live person. After that, you’re in. But, here is where most people make their mistake and quickly get themselves booted out of the forum, usually for excellent. Many people, when they join a forum, well immediately start blasting their business opportunity all over the place. This is the best way to get yourself thrown out. Nearly all forums, unlike message boards, have a strict “no advertising” policy. That means, no ads, period. You can question about certain programs or harvest and engage in discussion, but no “hey guys, check out this cool web site and don’t forget to sign up under me.” That kind of behavior will NOT go over well in a forum. Okay, you’re probably scratching your head and wondering, if you can’t make known in a forum, then how can you make known in a forum? Steve, have you perfectly lost your marbles? Maybe you’ve just been working too hard. Yes, I have been working very hard, but I haven’t lost my marbles. Forums are unquestionably the BEST place to make known your business. Let me clarify. Most forums, though not all, will allow you a signature. You can usually place anything you like in this signature, but check the particular forum rules for just what you can do. What I do is simple. I place my name and then under it I place a brief description of what I want to promote, usually one line, and then under that, the URL of the site. And that’s it. Now, the key is to get people to really look at your signature because most people don’t. How do you do that? By building credibility. How? This is what you do. After you join the forum, don’t start your own thread. Look at other threads, particular ones that question a question, like “How do I respond to a JV question for?” Read the post and if you know the answer, respond to it. Make it a honestly lengthy response so that the answer is really helpful. Do this for as many posts as you can find that you know the answer to. Ultimately, people will start to recognize you. But don’t do what I do and answer 80 posts in one day unless you REALLY have the smarts to back them up. I sometimes charge into a forum like a bull in a Plates shop. I can get away with it now, but if I tried this when I was just early, a lot of eyebrows would have been raised. Anyhow, keep doing this. After people get to know you, then you can start your own posts, but no ads. I usually will make a post with some suggestions about how to do a touch. I will usually get a lot of thank you’s for those. Or sometimes I will even question a question myself. Nothing incorrect with that, especially if you’re really stumped on a touch. Shows you’re human. You do this long enough at enough forums and you will start seeing sales come in by the bucket full. Three forums in particular that I am a member of are responsible for a huge chunk of my product sales. So take my advice. Hang out in forums. If you contribute, the rewards will come. And you won’t have to make known a thing. Jake Rileyhttp://www.Memberzilla.com

Marketing a Community Forum
Tuesday, January 12th, 2010Have you ever wanted to start your own community forum? It can be a fantastic addition to your site which also can bring revenue to your pockets. It is but, a full time task to get your forum off the ground. Like any business many forums fail and are deleted to the digital dust pile of the internet. So how do you have a successful forum? Making a successful forum you will need the proper niche, marketing, and pre-launch tactics.
What is your website about? Is the subject of your site a growing niche? How saturated is your niche? These are questions you should question yourself previous to embarking on making a profitable community. Forums need hundreds of committed members to be successful. Your forum could have a thousand members but only 10 committed members. Committed members will be the driving force of your forum, yet it is up to you to find appealing topics. A topic could be a major search term in the search engines and could drive traffic to your websites. So picking the proper terms is imperative to the growth of your niche forum.
Marketing is very vital to the viability of your site. If your forum isn’t in the top ten for your niche it will grow very at a snail’s pace. You should build back links to your forum and question members to link to your sites. Most of you members are members of myspace, face book, and social bookmark sites. Asking them to link to your site could bring to somebody’s attention your page rank on your forum, thus allow your threads more visibility. Doing this will help the indexing process, by allowing bots for search engine to index your new threads quickly. Even if those tips are fantastic you still will need to do basic seo. Publish at least two article about your niche and submit them to articles to article submission sites. Submit an exciting press release describing your forum and things that you will show to your users. With most forum software you can find a seo mod to make your urls search engine friendly, get it and use it. Don’t forget to social bookmark your site this is vital to bring in new users too.
Previous to your forum becomes exposed, you can get your forum to grow by using unique tactics. Using a posting service is a fantastic way to boost your forum. Paying for 1000 or 5000 post will allow your forum to look alive previous to real visitors arrive. Most people don’t like to join forums with nopost. Some will join but will neglect to post. The small cost of a posting service is well worth doing to get your forum off the ground. Finding the most search terms in your niche is a further way to drive laser targeted traffic to your new forum. Make up a few members and talk back and forward to yourself, let them have unique personalities. You can phase out those members when new real members join. Remember to start threads based on search terms that are required at least 5 times a day.
Forums are a fantastic way to add that small a touch that every site is missing. Using these techiques can bring members and wealth to your website.
Forum Police and the Owners Who Love Them
Tuesday, January 12th, 2010A healthy online forum can be a fantastic way to channel the wellbeing of others into a revenue stream as part of your online business.
It seems that no topic where you go online you can find a forum that matches a personal interest or passion. Within that forum you will find others that share that interest. You may disagree with them from time to time, but there can be a feeling of belonging when an individual finds a forum that matches a common pursuit.
As a business owner that also manages a forum you can point visitors to your online site, but you can also work with a Pay Per Click (PPC) advertising site to maximize earnings potential for your forum.
Sometimes a forum takes on a life of its own. Some forum owners have distress when the forum gets too large because they feel as if all they are doing is moderating discussions and enforcing rules. The attention required seems overwhelming and detrimental to the shape of the overall business.
It is possible to go away from personal moderation by enlisting the help of motivated members who have an interest in the success of the forum.
I’ve even seen some forums where members apply to become volunteer moderators and express a willingness to give 3-8 hours a day to the success of the forum – all at no cost to the owner. They become the police force and guardians of the tradition you’ve established for the forum. They should also be able to contact you about any questions they may have about situations that develop. You go into the role of forum consultant.
Those who can help you are motivated individuals that can develop a secure long-term success for your forum. Use their volunteerism wisely and never fail to express your gratitude.
You can develop a revenue stream by accepting both banner ads and PPC ads for every page of your forum. This does mean that visitors will leave to explore other places, but when they do it also brings revenue back to you.
The larger your forum the better returns you will see with this type of advertising. As a forum grows so do associated expenditure. Allowing advertising on your forum may be the best way to not only pay for the growth, but also add some extra cash to the bottom line.
Forums remain a positive way for businesses to allow consumers to interact with each other about either the primary business or the industry the business represents.
The excellent news is the management of the site and the funds to pay for it do not need to be funded completely by your business. With the acceptance of advertising and member help you have the greatest potential for offsetting expenditure.
It is natural for successful forum owners to become so overwhelmed with their success they ultimately choose to close down the forum simply because it demands too much attention. As you can see from this article there are alternatives that can allow you to take up again to succeed with minimal input and the potential for a direct and indirect return on your investment.
