Not really, but it could make the job of an online affiliate peddler a total nightmare in the coming months… selling affiliate harvest on the web has just gotten much, much tougher. Why?
Mainly because Google has taken Froogle, which it produced in 2002 and re-named/re-branded it into Google Product Search. Now when anyone searches for a product on the web – Google Product Search will list the harvest and the stores selling them on the web.
Now it should be noted, Google doesn’t charge any fees for these listings and accepts no payment for harvest that show up first; nor does Google make any commissions on sales. Google makes its revenue by selling advertising via Adwords on the Product Search results pages. Any company can submit harvest thru Google Base to be included in Google Product Search. What’s the problem?
Really, there is no problem for the consumer who wants to find the cheapest price for a product. Google offers this fantastic service which will help you find your product. It just cuts out the affiliate peddler who makes a living by promoting harvest on the web and receiving a small commission in return for their work.
But there are some very fundamental issues here that also cuts at the very heart of the Internet as we know it. Is Google varying the rules of how it does business by more aggressively targeting not only specific product keywords but much more broader keyword phrases in their organic search results with programs like Google Product Search? And they’re listing their links first in the organic search results or what everyone has come to believe are organic results. This argument is not new, Google has been taking those top a skin condition for years albeit directing buyers to other companies with the best prices and offers.
But, is Google now not just targeting a product name or product – but targeting and listing in the #1 spot all the broader keyword phrases which have until recently been dominated by the ordinary website owner? And even in your own iGoogle personal search, you can NOT place your choice ABOVE this Google Product Link.
The real tough question here: isn’t Google going from a search engine to a website creator and operator in this process? Is Google now not only providing the results; but is it now making web pages to match those results? There’s nothing incorrect with that, Google can do what it wants, but for the small affiliate peddler it means competition. Huge competition. In other words, every website on the net now has Google as a potential competitor in organic search.
Of course, how far Google goes with this broader keyword targeting has yet to be seen. Only time will tell if Google does indeed have affiliate links and affiliate sites in its thwart-hairs. Many affiliate marketers on the web will be waiting nervously for the answer to that question.
Again, most people would agree with what Google is doing, since most affiliate marketers only hype the harvest they’re selling and getting those affiliate based sites out of their search results and off the web may not be a terrible go on Google’s part and for the web as a total.
But, are consumers now getting the real information on harvest they’re buying? One of the fantastic things about the Internet is that it has permanently offered various types of information and viewpoints on any subject topic – including the harvest that we buy on the web. By placing itself first in organic search results, Google is saying its information and listed harvest are the ones you should be getting.
Many affiliate marketers have spent years researching and studying a particular product niche and they place forward valuable in-depth information on their sites about a particular product or service. They also place forward comprehensive general knowledge about harvest, air force and subjects that many searchers genuinely want to find when they search the web for information. It doesn’t permanently mean going frankly to the merchant to buy a product, many shoppers want information first, then make their choice.
While others will argue what’s the huge deal, isn’t Google also giving other search results besides the top spot? Yes, but as any peddler who has had a # 1 ranking in Google or any search engine for that topic, will know the top spot gets the majority of the traffic. So Google, by reserving the top spot for itself, will now receive the majority of the traffic, which it can exploit with its advertising.
Google is smart. Google has smart people. And smart people know the longer you have a web surfer on your site and not on a name else’s site, the more cash you will make on advertising. By taking the top spot in organic search for every profitable keyword that’s searched, and keeping those searchers on web pages derived from those results, Google can make more business for itself. The poor affiliate peddler and every other website owner will just have to descend for second place.

Will Google Product Search Kill Internet Affiliate Marketing?
Friday, September 10th, 2010How to write articles that shoot to the top of Google!
Friday, September 10th, 2010Knowing why people use the Internet is critical in delivering content that meets their needs, both in the subject topic and the manner in which content is presented. Internet users are mainly browsing the Internet looking for answers and as those answers are evenly by now covered in thousands of competing website articles you need to find a niche that is highly searched but not usually written about. You then need to present that niche topic in a concise, simple to navigate format to avoid those that scan content (most Internet users) from clicking away from your website. Finding such content is not simple but is time well spent if you can find a market your article can corner. How I find niche content to write about and how you can too!
What shows on front page of Google? If there are frankly related articles on top article sites like articlesbase and ezinearticles etc. evenly they’ll evenly show on front page of Google or top 3 pages.
Note: Just because there are no articles showing on that first page doesn’t mean there are not thousands of articles on that topic. What it does mean but is that in terms of contentrelated to terms people are using in searches, they may be lacking and as such fault to attract search engines. Thus if you can write an article that does cover those keyword phrases that people are using to find those answers, you have an increased chance of your article ranking highly and outshining all the other articles in cyber space.

Making Money From Your Web Site With Google Adsense
Monday, September 6th, 2010Google AdSense is the Google program where you can host pay-per-click ads on your Web site. When a name clicks an ad, you earn cash. Simple as that.
Is it really as simple to make cash with Google AdSense as many would lead you to believe? Now that I’ve become heavily involved with managing Google AdSense programs for my clients, I can see it’s not all play and no work.
Unfortunately, a lot of people bought into the thought that there was a lot of simple cash to be made and they are now finding out they aren’t making nearly as much as they thought they would. Additionally, Google has a lot of prohibited practices when it comes to AdSense, and too many Webmasters are finding out they violated Google’s policies after the fact – evenly because they never bothered to read the AdSense policies in the first place.
Webmasters must not only comply with AdSense policies, but their web sites must also comply with Google’s webmaster policies.
Prerequisites for Making Cash with AdSense
To make cash with Google AdSense you need plenty of traffic coming in to your site or there won’t be anyone to click the ads. Web site promotion techniques, especially search engine optimization and article marketing will bring more traffic to your site. You also need to have content that will attract the ads with the highest Pay Per Click (PPC) rate that are relevant to that content. Then, you need to lay out your web pages so the ads blend in with your Web site. Studies have revealed that people who stay sites that contain ads that use colors that are not in harmony with the actual Web site tend to develop “ad blindness”. Meaning no topic how much traffic comes into your site, chances are no one will click the ads because they’ll be ignoring them. If no one clicks, you make nothing.
Dealing with Competitors
If you place forward harvest or air force on you Web site, the first thing you’ll notice when you start hosting PPC ads is that many of the ads are coming from your competitors. Therefore, you’ll want to place ads on pages that aren’t earning you any cash, or do like I did and not place ads on your site until you’re so busy anyhow you’d rather make a few dollars off of your competitors than to take up again turning business away with nothing to show for it.
Google AdSense allows you to specify up to 200 URLs for sites you want to bar from placing ads on your pages. The problem is that most times you won’t know the competitors are out there until their ads appear.
Google Cash Making Ad Options
Google offers three ways to make cash from them:
Google AdSense Payments
Google will not issue an AdSense payment until your earnings exceed $100. Unfortunately, there are loads of Google AdSense Forum entries about Web site operators who accumulated $90 or more in click through earnings only to get banned from Google and not get paid anything at all previous to they ever reached $100. This may be because Google doesn’t take a close look to see if you’re complying with their guidelines until it comes time to pay you. So yes, there’s a lot more to the tale than meets the eye.

Could the Sports Illustrated Jinx, where teams and athletes featured on the cover particularly flounder soon after publication; have spread to their fellow Time, Inc. weekly Time Magazine? This week the boys from Google are gracing Time’s cover and from their simple smiles (and a byline that mentions Internet domination) you’d reckon that the transformation is complete: Google has irrevocably “pwned” us all! Well, a theory that there is some kind of jinx fits because Google seems to be getting it from all angles now. But with all the piling on, it’s vital to remember that Google’s core business, search advertising, is still very much a winner.
In regards to lofty stock prices, it’s been said that the same breeze at the bottom of a mountain is a gale at the peak, meaning it doesn’t take much negativity to knock a few dollars off the price of a stock that’s performed well. And Google’s peak so far has been among the loftiest a corporation has ever experienced to date. Their success stuns – individuals netting billions, a stock price (NASD: GOOG) skyrocketing to $475 as influential analysts hint at future valuations of $1,000, $2000. Run off success has been associated with Google since even previous to their IPO in November, 2004. This aura, but, may have fostered a fake significance of invulnerability for the giant Mountainside, CA-based search engine.
ICMediaDirect.com, by virtue of being an online advertising company, has much to thank Google for, particularly the interest they generated in our field. Their brand recognition alone has served as advertising for our industry in recent years. Google was so hot for so long, that just being in a related space may have opened doors for us that might have otherwise been closed.
There have been some cracks in Google’s façade for some time, but small notice was given to them in the wake of relentless success. But, the record skipped last month when Google disappointed the public with their earnings and the stock sold off about 25% from its high. Still, public analysis was more focused on Google’s earnings, not their business.
That is, until Barron’s, the influential weekly financial newspaper, featured Google this past weekend. There was nothing playful on their cover, just the familiar Google logo being submerged into water, like the Colossal. The article makes a compelling case that Google’s success is overvalued.
Among the issues discussed was a genuine peril unique to search based advertising: click fraud. Barron’s wondered how anyone presently could gauge the depth of this problem when; a) this problem technically enriches Google, while robbing thousands of their customers, and b) its nearly impossible to distinguish how much is committed. If Google knows, they’re not saying. So we see an incalculable problem within online advertising, the very business that’s irrevocably measurable. Go figure.
But Barron’s mentioned other problems that are troublesome Google, as well. The very guys on the cover of Time, Google co-founders Sergey Brin and Larry Page along with CEO Eric Schmidt, are feverishly selling their stakes in the company as is the rest of top management. While much of these insider sales registered and scheduled for execution long ago – what’s truly disconcerting is that no insiders seem to be buying any stock in their company. It’s a spooky one-way street.
Even the puff piece in Time Magazine contained this loaded bon mot from Schmidt, “The company isn’t run for the long-term value of our shareholders but for the long-term value of our end users.” I had to read the quote twice to make sure I had really read it correctly and then again to make sure I could figure out what he meant by “end users”.
This is what the CEO of Google thinks of the people who’ve made him worth 10 figures. It made me reckon of Bill Murray’s character’s advice to the students at Rushmore Academy, “Take dead aim at the rich boys. Get them in the thwart hairs, and take them down.” Sorry, Eric, but this Robin Hood approach elicits this sort of reaction … especially when it is directed at the people who made them rich.
I believe that Google was rabidly over-hyped and is still overpriced, but it’s their chosen business, the one they perfected, and the one that I admire. Now that some Google bashing is somewhat en vogue, be sure some unacquainted opinions will form. The same minds that assumed all things Internet were about to be ruled by King Google, they too will be claiming Internet advertising to be a fake business, an unworthy venture.
This couldn’t be more incorrect. One of the signatures of the Web 1.0 bubble of 2000-2001 was that these overheated interactive companies weren’t making cash. Not only were they unprofitable, many couldn’t even generate revenue. They were sodden with the promise of new technology and nothing else. Yes, the Internet was wondrous then, but making cash off of it was not possible, at least not previous to some of those burn rates contributed to global warming. (Don’t laugh; check out the data, it matches perfectly.)
Then along comes the search wonder of Google. Google is merely an overpriced stock, not a collapsing bubble. Their contribution is both simple and stunning. They came up with small text boxes to correspond and link properly with searches on their network. That’s all.
99% of Google’s revenue comes from search advertising. While Barron’s was right to question whether this technology really warrants partnership with NASA for space exploration, the article also boils Google down to a apparatus that is merely “hawking ads” in providing draw a distinction to Google’s self-billing as a global technology chief.
Search advertising made Google larger than Coca-Cola in only a few fleeting years. If that’s the end result of “hawking ads”, then Google is doing a touch right. Microsoft and Yahoo apparently want to hawk ads like Google, too, as Barron cites the increased and inevitable competition.
Google’s lesson for us at ICMediaDirect.com, and for anyone in Internet advertising, is that you cannot separate Google’s success from Google’s search. Everything else is a side tale. Stock prices, jet planes, R&D (billions spent for that remaining 1%) – all of it serves to distract from this: 99% of Google’s revenue is derived from search advertising. Search advertising works.
This isn’t the next bubble burst, just a tale of a company that did its job so blindingly well that the public overvalued its stock. Now it’s time for its stock price to cool off. I’m pleased to see the sector grow more competitive. That’s terrific. I reckon that everyone, even Google’s shareholders, view this as a healthy sign for the search advertising industry, if not a certified validation.
All About Google Dance
Friday, August 13th, 2010A fleeting rhyme by Woz at WebmasterWorld best describes the Google dance. It goes –
They place some pages in,
They take some pages out,
They calculate the PageRank,
Then they shake it all about,
They wait until the full moon
Then they mix the servers up,
That’s what its all about.
Webmasters have christened a concept associated with all search engines after the name of Google – the Google dance. And rightly so. Because of the sheer reach, popularity and reputation of Google as a search engine, Google has been subjected to analysis under a microscope by search engine analysts more evenly than not. So what exactly is Google Dance?
The Google dance clarified
The results of a particular search on Google highly fluctuate when Google Shuffles the rankings of websites in its search engine results pages (SERPs). This concept is termed as dance. During the dance, the results for a particular search on Google vary minute to minute. The index update at Google is changed at an interval of about a month. Though the outcome of this exchange in the index is instantly reflected on the SERPs, the actual process takes several days to complete. It is not viable for Google to shut down operations or go offline till the updated index is transferred to all their servers. Hence the results for a particular search fluctuate or ‘dance’ till the index update is transferred to all Google servers.
It has been experimental that Google has three main servers – www.google.com, www2.google.com, and www3.google.com. During an index update, the results showed by these three servers vary to a large extent. This happens because one server reflects the updated index while the other is still showing the results of the ancient index.
An simple way of determining whether the dance is on is to make a search question for on www.google.com and look at the blue bar on top of the page. It shows ‘pages 1-12 of about 564,000’. Then search for the same on www2.google.com and www3.google.com. If the number of total pages differs in each server, you know that the dance is on. You know the dance is over when the numbers do not vary and the order of the results is the same.
Google’s spider constantly visits websites to check their legality and to delete non surviving websites. It is, therefore, common to see nominal changes in the results of a search over a month or so. But, if there is an alarming variation in the ranking of a website, or a major alteration in the results within a few days, it can be guessed that the Google dance is on.
Is it a thing of past?
Many experts contend that the Google dance is a thing of the past. The monthly update of the index list is the result of the deep crawl wherein Google’s spiders crawl the web to update its index on a monthly basis. Fixed searchers will swear that the results fluctuate more than once a month. This happens because of the fresh crawl employed by Google. This crawl is carried out nearly continuously to keep the index up to date. This frequent fluctuation in the results of a search is termed as everflux. Because of the fresh crawl, determining whether the dance is on cannot be based on the variation in the total number of search pages. If the three Google servers show a different number of back links to vital sites such as Yahoo or AOL, then the Google dance is on.
But this does not lessen the importance of the monthly update. Because of the unremitting search of the web with the help of fresh crawl pages keep getting included in and excluded out of the result pages nearly everyday. But it is the deep crawl of the web that decides the rankings of web pages by Google.
How to cope up?
It is only during the dance that the rankings will fluctuate. There’s no need to panic if your ranking suddenly drops among Google’s rankings. A 5-6 day wait will see you heave a sigh of relief as the rankings stabilize for the coming month. Others who want to know their ranks even during the dance can access the intermediate bases of Google. Knowing that the dropping in the ranking is temporary, it is vital not to over compensate. Take up again offering feature content through your website and you are bound to sustain any dire things of the Google dance.

The Shot Heard Around the World, Google,s Endorsement of “get Google Adds Free”
Thursday, August 5th, 2010My name is Roger Preston, and I am a journalist for various
publications in upstate New York, as well as the New England area.
I recently had a chance to interview the fine team of professionals
at WebBusinessSecrets.com whose flagship product is entitled “Get
Google Ads Free.”
In April of 2007 “Get Google Ads Free” was launched, and the effect
was nothing less than copy to “the shot heard around the world!”
Within just weeks people everywhere were talking about it, and
other top-notch online marketers were scurrying to sell it as an
Affiliate for the company.
But here’s a small insight that 99.9% of everyone the world over
doesn’t know:
The Product’s greatest endorser is none other than Google itself!
That’s right. As shocking as it may seem, Google has NO problem
with the course that reveals how anyone can get ads on their search
engine for Free!
Now, at this point I know you must be curious as to how such a
thing is possible, as Google makes its cash from the sale of both
AdWords (PPCs) and AdSense (where webmasters allow Google to show
their ads on their pages).
One might reckon that any information that revealed how an
advertiser could get their AdWords pay-per-clicks free would be
damaging to Google, and therefore Google would not want anyone
finding out about it, right?
WRONG! It seems that the secret system urban by the retired
native New York doctor contains an appealing “twist” that while
allowing advertisers to eliminate their AdWords expenditure, it does not
reduce a single dollar in AdWords revenue for Google.
In fact, just the opposite!
I cannot give away the secret here because that’s why it’s for sale
in the first place.
But I can tell you that with the application of what’s inside “Get
Google Ads Free” that:
- Google loses NO cash
- Google really can make even more M0NEY!
- Advertisers gain an instant nearly unfair advantage over anyone
not knowing what’s inside “Get Google Ads Free!”
- Advertisers can now meet the expense of to outbid their competition!
- Advertisers are not at risk any longer as their advertising
budgets no longer topic!
Wow! And this is just the beginning!
Now, where’s the definitive PROOF that Google endorses “Get Google
Ads Free?”
I questioned this question to company voice and Vice Head of
Sales & Marketing, Mr Todd Coutrin, to which he responded:
—————————————————-
“We started our launch like we permanently do with any product online,
using Google AdWords to place forward our Product.
“We used keywords that contained the word ‘free’ so we anticipated
the usual HOLD these keywords usually produce any campaign using them
to experience.
“But when our campaign was paused by Google for a tad more time
than what we evenly anticipated, then we got concerned.
“I really placed a call frankly to Google at 1-866-2-GOOGLE and
spar at part with a customer air force rep who said she’d check
into what was happening.
“She returned my call 16 hours later and informed me that due to the
specific nature of the Product in question (i.e., “Get Google Ads
Free!”) their team at Google open the product, read it all the
way trough, and then realizing it would NOT hurt their revenue but
really increase it, they immediately un-paused and resumed our
ads”
—————————————————-
Incredible! They really got what amounts to a Signed Certificate of
APPROVAL from Google itself!
Therefore, anyone who questions the truth or legality concerning
“Get Google Ads Free!” need not fret at all.
Yet, the usual “naysayers” seemed to ignore the obvious fact that
if Google had a problem with “Get Google Ads Free!” then we all
wouldn’t be seeing all the PPC ads at Google each time we type in
the keywords and phrases:
- free ads
- free advertising
- “Get Google Ads Free”
- free ppc
- free adwords
And so forth!
Yet, there are many very stubborn, even foolish, among us.
To be honest, I must also inform you of those who seem to be out to
get the company for sharing their incredible secret with the world.
In what seems nothing more than a ploy to get attention, a UK
online firm operated by two wanna-be law students have a Blog that
talks the usual trash about the Product.
The Blog’s owner, Rob Scott, talks a huge game by claiming the
secret system to be nothing fleeting of a scam! He even recklessly
throws around the potentially libelous phrase “.con (Ooops, I
meant .com)” as an attempt at childish humor in order to bash the
firm’s name.
What’s shocking is that this individual is really a student of
law (at least that’s what he claims) so one would reckon that he
should perhaps check out the facts previous to proceeding with such
careless remarks.
After all, he admits severally that he “never even ordered the
ebook” so how could he truly know one way or the other if it was a
valid system – not to mention it is assumed he’s at least
reasonably intelligent since (according to him) he got into law
school, that he would be able to see for himself the firm’s
Affiliates’ ads all over Google, and therefore reason that Google
itself is perhaps the firm’s chief supporter.
But stubbornness abounds, I suppose.
Ironically Rob says that the only reason he attacks the firm is
because “it’s a no brainer that this must be a scam,” and he got
“tired of seeing all those small AdSense ads on his page that
people kept clicking on” (which by the way only stood to make him
lots of M0NEY!) — yet he accepts donations on his site as a poor,
struggling law student in need of paying for his education, and
rather than legitimately earn an income from AdSense with an
APPROVED Product.
Sadly, Rob really censors most of his Blog so that others who wish
to post POSITIVES concerning “Get Google Ads Free!” can’t even do
so. (But what would you expect from a wanna-be lawyer?)
He even posts what appears to be an actual response by the firm’s
lawyer, but which is perhaps nothing more than his own posts
disguised and designed to make himself look better (as anyone can
see that the dialogue appears manufactured instead of genuine).
What some people will do to project themselves as “savior to the
rest of us” and “the people’s advocate.” How ridiculous indeed.
Anyhow, don’t be dissuaded in your choice to build your online
business by eliminating your Google AdWords expenditure, as the course
“Get Google Ads Free!” not only reveals precisely how you can do
this, but it goes 10 steps further by giving you all kinds of other
incredible strategies I can’t even start to allude to here.
Plus, the e-course comes with countless resources that go far beyond
the usual variety of instantly-clickable extra principles!
Lastly never forget that even though reasonably elderly now, Dr Jon
Cohen has even set new records finishing ahead of himself by now
having:
- Grossed over $400 Million in revenues!!
- and SAVED over $100 Million in Google advertising expenditure!!
..all due to his own system!
Talk about putting your cash where your mouth is!
