PageRank is an algorithm which analyses the link structure of a hyper-linked set of web pages and then assigns a numerical weighting to each page as a way of measuring their relative importance within that set. The PageRank of a particular web page is an indication of its value within the Google index. The scale is a range from 0 to 10.
A page with high PageRank will have a direct positive effect on its spot within search results, but it is not the only factor considered by the Google algorithm when ranking a page – it is only one of approximately 200 factors but it is, none the less, one of the most vital.
This is how Google describes PageRank:
PageRank relies on the uniquely democratic nature of the web by using its vast link structure as an indicator of an individual pages value. In essence, Google interprets a link from page A to page B as a vote, by page A, for page B. But, Google looks at more than the sheer volume of votes, or links a page receives; it also analyzes the page that casts the vote. Votes cast by pages that are themselves “vital” weigh more heavily and help to make other pages “vital”.
As a website starts to increase in popularity via the feature and quantity of back links, the PageRank of a particular page also increases. This increase in number but is based, we believe, on a logarithmic scale. As an example if using a base 10 scale, to get a PageRank of 1 the page requires 10 back links pointing to it, then to gain a further point on the scale, the page will require an extra 100 backl inks, to gain a further point an extra 1000 back links will be required and so on.
Retaining all of that valuable PageRank can be tough and a lot of it has to do with how the internal between structure of your website is set up. It is very simple to leak ‘link juice’ from vital pages into less vital pages that are less likely to appear in search results. There are methods available to search marketers that allow us to reduce this leakage commonly referred to as PageRank sculpting.
A further way of leaking ‘link juice’ is to have large amounts of outdoor between to other websites without getting a similar amount of links back into your website. As part of the link building process Search Marketers are constantly aware of checking the likely value of a link from a particular website previous to they leak any ‘link juice’ out to that site via a reciprocal link.
As you’ll know by now, even if PageRank is a critical component in Google’s ranking algorithm, due to its logarithmic nature it is very hard to obtain a high PageRank even after years of link building. By its very nature, the web changes and the page that a link comes from may not carry as much weight as it did when the link was first obtained, regardless of the PageRank measure for that page. It could simply be that other pages that were ‘voting’ for that particular page may not carry as much weight as they once did which has a flow on effect to the value of the link going to your site.
Google advise that the PageRank assessment of a webpage is calculated on a fixed basis but that the PageRank scale shown on the Google Toolbar is only updated 2-3 times per year so the very best option for all websites to gain rankings is to take up again to build credible back links and not to be discouraged when the PageRank scale doesn’t slide upwards overnight.

What Is Google Pagerank And Why Is It Important?
Tuesday, February 16th, 2010You can’t Tweet “goodnight” on a first date…Why how you say goodnight is even more important than how you say hello on a first date
Saturday, February 13th, 2010As Facebook and Twitter infiltrate our social interactions, some things remain the same. Take going out on a date. You can make your date arrangements by tweeting or texting, but some things you still need to do unplugged. That includes coming up with a goodnight routine or plot about successfully ending the huge first date. And if you want a second one, how well you end the first date can play a huge part.
Paul A. Falzone, CEO of The Right One and Together Dating–one of the world’s largest brick-and-mortar dating air force with more than 60 offices nationwide—has corresponding hundreds of clients during his quarter of a century in business. So what does this like authority reckon about saying goodnight?
“You want to go into the date thinking things will go well. So it’s unquestionably not premature to at least imagine how you would like the date to end. That said, you don’t want how you say goodnight to turn into goodbye and that does take setting some boundaries for how far things will go,” said Falzone.
For starters, Falzone recommends:
? Meet at the place of your date – eliminating the home pickup and dropoff does reduce the likelihood of an overly affectionate goodnight. That can be a excellent and terrible thing. But if the date went well, not a dealbreaker.
? Goodnight kiss; handshake, high five? – See how the date goes and use your best instincts and discrimination. There’s nothing incorrect if the twilight gets a small amorous, that’s the thought. But going into the date with any expectations, even a peck on the cheek, is a mistake.
? Should I question for a second date? – The night’s gone well and you’re wondering “should I strike while the iron is hot and see if he/she wants to get together again”. Don’t. Avoid making plans as you’re saying goodnight. If it went well, do make plans to reconnect by phone, text or e-mail.
? Want to come up for a cup of coffee? – Again, use your discrimination. Is coffee coffee or does it mean a touch else? If it’s really coffee and you’d like to take up again the date and conversation, there are more than few coffee shops out there. Keep this date public. If it’s meant to be, there will be plenty of times for “coffee” at his or her place.
? Walk your date to their door or vehicle – Just a common courtesy and doesn’t mean anything more than you want them to get home safely. Don’t mistake walking them to the door to mean any more than that.
? And if it went terribly – You went out on the date and nothing. That happens. Just leave it at that. It’s a date, not a breakup and there’s really no need to make any declarations that you don’t want to go out again right there. One of the beauties of the technology we have is that if you don’t want to go out with somebody again, there are ways—e-mail, texting, and voice mail—to do it without a face-to-face confrontation.
“Having a goodnight routine is really about judging how the twilight went, assessing where you want things to go—or not go—and really using your best discrimination. And if all those things are helping, take it slow. As said earlier, if it’s meant to be, a succinct goodnight is not a dealbreaker,” said Falzone.
Utah Internet Advertising: the Rights of the Self Important Consumer
Wednesday, February 3rd, 2010Like advertisers, marketers and business professionals from many states across the U.S. (and beyond), the amount of resources invested by online Utah advertisers in Internet advertising air force are growing every year. After all, Utah has a large entrepreneurial base and a cache of business experts who have made offline business in Utah a rather fierce affair. As truculent as the war has been but it seems that the most cutthroat battle is still ahead: the battle of Utah Internet Advertising.Leveraging Advertising Power for More Effectual Utah Internet Advertising
If your business has been rated well by major search engines or if you have invested in a successful PPC or affiliate marketing campaign you’ve probably glimpsed the awesome power the World Wide Web can have on the success of your humble business. When it comes to advertising and a meagerly small budget but it is hard to know how can you invest in the palmy Utah Internet advertising campaign that every Utah business qualified could benefit from. Utah Internet Advertising that Works
The answer to the Utah Internet advertising question may not be the answer that business professionals want to hear and by no means is it the only one. There are a variety of ways to tackle advertising challenges but the obvious way to be successful in advertisement is to make associations between your harvest/air force and the needs of your customers. Finding the best way to make these evasive relations isn’t simple (especially if you want to remain ethically impregnable) but a simple way to start is to choose which advertising methodology you want to utilize by observing the current trends of standard and propitious advertisements. The observation of these trends doesn’t have to be expensive. Watching T.V. Commercials for instance can be an simple and inexpensive way of making your own analysis for your next Utah Internet advertising campaign.
This remainder of this article will focus on one of the current (i.e. From about the 60’s or 70s until the present) advertising trends that is working (and working well) in the United States today. You of course do not have to implement this practice in your own Utah Internet advertising campaign (some Utah professionals might even consider it unethical) but this analysis may help you to observe bonus advertising trends that would verify more beneficial to your own Utah Internet advertising campaign. The Current Advertising Trend of Rights to Indulgence, Self-Importance and Superiority: Would it work for a Utah Internet Advertising Campaign?
Consumers know that advertisers (some advertisers that is) are quick to use the basics of self preservation such as material goods (i.e. greed) and physical intimacy (i.e. sex) greed and sex to attract the average consumer. After all, every person is “susceptible” to these self-preserving needs. But, an online article1 by Richard F. Taflinger, PhD also points out that the concepts of self-esteem or a significance of “self” can contribute to successful material accomplishments and sexual intimacy which makes advertising to the “self” a standard way to kill two birds with one advertising stone! Of course, you might reckon this type of advertisement might not be used in Utah but if those are your thoughts, reckon again! Frosty Group, a Utah based company has by now used the practice for box (see not more than) based advertising and it is very likely that Utah Internet advertising examples are also (or will soon be) made available.Examples of Self Importance and Self Indulgence Advertisements
A very standard method of advertising today is to make a significance that every human being whether a man or a woman has a right to indulge a significance of self or a significance of self importance and superiority as long as he or she has the means to buy certain objects (of course the buy requirement is NOT usually explicit). Examples of this zeitgeist of indulgence and superiority include examples such as the L’Oreal campaign slogan, “Because you’re worth it,”2 which of course infers that every woman (regardless of how much she has to spend) has the innate right to buy mascara, foundation, eye liner and sparkled lotions. Bonus examples of the right to indulgence campaigns include the following examples:
Is Pagerank That Important?
Saturday, January 30th, 2010Hell No, itâ??s not about page rank at all when you want the attention your website deserves.
Itâ??s all about the content and words on your site that will determine on which page youâ??re website will be showed in the search engines.
When your site is for example all about cash, you talk cash, dream cash do cash and in the end hopefully make cash. Every condemn you write on you webpage has to do with cash and every condemn has to come as a complete logical tale about that cash you talking about.
It becomes simpler when you specialize in a certain field of expertise.
A friend of mine is enthusiastic about Forex robotraders that makes him all too much cash. He chose to start a blog about Forex robotraders he uses and later on made a website to let the world now about this product. Â His website didnâ??t do much for about 3 months, then came the changes in his web stats and he saw his website being found on certain words like robotrader, make cash with Forex robotradersâ?¦ and so on, the list grows daily.
His website shows every time on the first page of Google with the right keywords and Yahoo and MSN are following. Last time I checked on the word robotrader his site stood on number six in Google. Not to terrible for a hobbyist.
The pagerank is zero, does pagerank topic? Perhaps! I donâ??t reckon to hard about it. Most webmasters have a need to link to each other and make pages full of links just to get noticed by the search engines that the rest of their website is full of crap.
The most visitors will not even notice which pagerank a website has and will not care about it, when the website they reached has qualified look and has the tools they need it will by now work for the most of visitors.
Writing articles then publish them on forums or blogs is a start, You will find when you search: SEO especially for Google an article from meâ?¦? It comes up number one in Google.
Yes from me, I cultured some tricks in the SEO field so can you.
This article will show up on certain keywords also, so when you read this you know.

Why Link Consistency is Important to Your Pagerank
Friday, January 22nd, 2010Let me question you a simple question. What is your homepages address? Just tell me the URL to your homepage.
My guess is, that you just told me the domain name, as in www.bettergoogleposition.com.
Right? Of course! But take a second thinking about your website structure. You probably have a default page, like default.asp, index.html or a touch similar, which work as your homepage. For instance, on my website Toastforums.com, we have a default.asp file. Going to www.toastforums.com and www.toastforums.com/default.asp will bring you to the same page.
So – does it topic which one you use? As I will show you shortly – YES, it truly does topic, and you should reckon about this EVERY time you make a link to your frontpage.
Let’s take a closer look at the two pages above – the domain name itself and the /default.asp page. It is of course the very same page – it’s only the address in your browser that tells us the difference.
But take a look at the pagerank! (If you don’t have the free Google Toolbar installed in your browser, I suggest you get it now, since I will assume in this article that you have the PageRank information showed).
At the time this article was produced, the pagerank looked like this:
http://www.toastforums.com/
Pagerank 6
http://www.toastforums.com/default.asp
Pagerank 4
As I said previous to: It is the excact same page! But the Pagerank differs by 2 points what so ever! What does this tell us?Page Name Consistency is key!
Google will genuinely take the two URLs as two separate pages – and calculate the Pagerank for each! And since some of my incoming links go frankly to the domain name, I still have a lot of incoming links to the /default.asp page. But isn’t two well-ranked pages better than one?
As I am writing this, I am also working on varying all the incoming links to go to the root url. So far, this has earned me an extra point in Pagerank (went from 5 to 6 this week), and my best guess is that I will be at PR7 or PR8 within a few months from now.
But as I said earlier, I hope this has proven to you just how vital it is to be CONSISTENT with your incoming links – and your internal links for that topic! It doesn’t topic if you link to the root domain or the default.asp page – as long as you are consistent!
I will follow up on this article every time the Pagerank of our websites are updated. So don’t forget to stay BetterGooglePosition.com.Answer me one more time…
So… What is your homepage address? Take a few minutes to go back to your site and make sure that you are consistently between the right way. You will not see the results instantly, but you should be able to see some improvement of Pagerank over time…
Search Engine Optimization: Is It As Important As It Seems?
Monday, January 18th, 2010Search engine optimization is a huge deal to today Internet marketing experts. And, providing accurate and valuable content is a huge deal to the major search engines. Therefore, SEO experts have urban this list of tricks for making the search engines recognize and value your site.
- Find out what keywords your competitors are optimizing for. Find out what keywords your competitors are using on their pages with the Keyword Density Checker. It will tell you what keywords they consider most vital and could tip you off to some excellent ones that you hadn’t thought of.
- Use the robots.txt file properly. A robots.txt file can be used to prevent the search engine spiders from indexing certain pages on your site. For example if you have a download page for your product, you would not want it to be indexed and showed in the search results. You can learn more about making a robots.txt file or check an existing robots.txt file.
- Design your pages with customers in mind. Sites should never be designed only for search engines. Once a customer arrives, your pages have to be designed in such a way as to exchange him or her into a customer. If they land on your page and cannot make significance of it because it’s designed for search engine spiders instead of real people, you’re not going to be any further ahead. And as the search engine spiders become more advanced, they’re learning how to spot pages that are useless to customers.
- Register your site for longer than one year at a time. There is some evidence that the search engines, particularly Google, give more weight to sites that have a URL that is registered for longer than one year. The reasoning behind this is that if you own a legitimate site you will plot to be in business indefinitely. Whereas spammers tend to use domains for a few months only and then go on to a new one.
- Use keywords in your anchor text. Anchor text is the clickable text showed for links – and it’s more vital to your search engine rankings than you might reckon. Every time the search engines find a link pointing to your site it counts as a “vote” that a name considers your site excellent enough to share it with their own visitors. If your keywords are included in that anchor text, the search engines assume your site must be related to that topic and your site relevancy for those keywords increases a small. The more links you have with keyword rich anchor text, the more vital the search engines consider your site. The most vital sites make the top 10.
The new buzzword among site developers is optimization. And with excellent reason. Unlike the past when only the appearance of keywords mattered, search engines now rank pages based upon many different factors. As you can see from the information presented above, you can help to get your site seen by the search engines with just a small investment of your time.
Why is SSL certificate very important?
Sunday, January 17th, 2010When you want to buy domain name be shore that domain name registrar service have SSL certificate! People are getting smart about online security. They are looking for the padlock icon and “https” prefix in the address bar of their browser previous to submitting personal information online. If web site doesn’t have an SSL Certificate, visitors leave previous to making a buy, making an account or even signing up for a newsletter.
Today, online commerce is worth an estimated US$1 trillion and continues to grow at a substantial rate. One of the key success factors for e-commerce has been the implementation of highly available security technology into browsers and web servers – in particular SSL.SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) is the transaction security protocol used by hundreds of thousands of websites to protect online commerce.
What is SSL certificate?
Secure Sockets Layer, SSL, is the standard security technology for making an encrypted link between a web server and a browser. This link ensures that all data passed between the web server and browser remains confidential and integral. SSL is an industry standard and is used by millions of websites in the protection of their online transactions with their customers. In order to be able to generate an SSL link, a web server requires an SSL Certificate.
SSL encryption technology exists as part of the larger topics of safe computing and secure networking. E-commerce oriented websites must take precautions to insure their customer’s credit card information, personally exclusive information (PII), or other confidential data is properly protected en route to the recipient server.
You should buy domain name at cheapest registration reseller, but much vital is that web site has SSL certificate. This can be a way to save cash. I recommended my favourite registrar service DOMAINS WORLD. I trust them you also can stay DOMAINS WORLD.
Is SSL it Important? Selling Online Securely.
Friday, January 8th, 2010You may be wondering what SSL is and if you need it for your online store? The truth most stores that sell online need it and it is a very vital part for selling online.
SSL stans for Secure Sockets Layer and in a nutsell it in the end protects any information that is sent to, from and during the order process of your online store. Without it this information is left visible to anyone who knows how to take a look at it.
If your online store has SSL Security then when a browser is pointed to your secure domain name an ssl handshake will authenticate the server and the client. It then establishes an encryption method and makes unique key for that session.
Now that a secure session has been produced and you can be guaranteed that any information that is sent/inputted at this time is secure. This protects any sensitive information that you may not want in the hands of just anyone(such as credit card information, address, phone number etc…).
To encrypt a message a key is used to alter the original message sent. The key uses a long sequence of algorithm bits to encrypt or decrypt the original message. An algorithm might look like this 00001010 01101001 10011110 00011100 01010101 and depending on how many bits it would have would detemine its part.
An encryption algorithm would then take the original message and the key, and then it would alter the original message using the key bits to make a new encrypted message. To decrypt it a decryption algorithm would take the encrypted message and restore it back to its original state using the key.
The difference between between the bit strength is how long the algorithm is. If it is 40 bit then it would be 40 characters long and so forth.
Today the minimum bit encryption used is 128 which offers 88 bonus bits of key part then previous to when they use to only use a 40-bit. The reason they had to exchange the bit part was that a 40-bit encryption seemed too simple for hackers to break.
Now with a 128-bit encryption there are a possible 309,485,009,821,345,068,724,781,056 additonal combinations that are required to crack it. Experts say they expert the 128-bit encryption should work well on the internet for at least a further 10 years.
So there you have it, a quick and simple breakdown of SSL and why you need it as well as what it does. There are other choices such as using 3rd party payment processors(such as paypal.com or 2checkout.com) but for added protection it is permanently nice to know that you have SSL protecting you.
Important Information You Need Before Starting A Forum
Friday, January 1st, 2010People are permanently willing to help and answer any questions that you may have in forums. When early any thing you need to make a solid effort and believe it will work, most people will fail because they are not patient and do not give it enough time flourish, take it one day at a time and relax the people will come. People are also feeling that they have an identity, and putting it on the Web is a fantastic way of expressing themselves.
With human activity on your forums, visitors are more inclined to stay and interact with other members. Statistics have shown that 15%-25% of the visitors will join the forum if it interest them while the others will read the post. There is no rule of thumb when it comes to knowing how busy a site is, but a couple of hundred unique visitors is a nice start and if you are getting this type of traffic it might be wise to add a forum to your site.
What this is really about is the value of forums to the internet marketing process. Online forums are a fantastic reminder of the influence the internet has had on society. Internet is not a scary or unfriendly place, online forums are to the top with people who want to help and who are friendly, most of the people are there to help out.
Because the members by now have experience, many will help because they have the experience and the wisdom and can help you get through the troubled times. Trying to post on your forum everyday is sometimes a lot of work, many forum owners hires a paid forum posting service, this service will post in your forum and draw people into it where they will become members.
If you have a web community that is large enough and it is for a specific demographic you will be able to bring revenue in. One of the best ways to increase sales, community and the loyalty of your customers is by having a forum.
You should not make known or publish any other promotional material in the forum as this is considered as SPAM.
Not more than are a few tips to making the most from your forum signature using TEXT only. Many people don’t realize this but putting your link in a forum signature is one of the best ways to make back links to your site. Add your web site address to your signature line or in your membership profile. Your hyper linked signature tag is now a back link which will help with the link popularity to your site.
Most people reckon you need to start small and wait for the forum to build up, but you don’t, there are firms that will help build your forum and post for the right price, once you have the posts people will read them and more people will join and post to it. Once you catch the interest of other people and they start signing up for your forum it will be simpler to expand on it and place forward harvest or sell advertisements. Your forum will bring visitors but you need to be patient, keep building links to it, let it go up in the ranks of search engines and previous to you know it people will be unification and posting to it.
