Alternative Energy Solutions can keep our environment clean and green

Saturday, October 16th, 2010

Different forms of energy sources have helped us in many ways from running our vehicles to cooking at home or generating electricity. There are two types of energy sources – renewable and non-renewable energy resources. The former is where the energy resources do not get depleted and they can be used repeatedly whereas non-renewable energy resources cannot be used again and again. We cannot even imagine a life without the existence of fossil fuels like crude oil; coal and natural gas but usage of these energy resources makes lot of problems. Global warming, increase in prices of fossil fuels and the threat of peak oil are major concerns around the globe but what steps are we taking to overcome all these issues? If we stop consuming fossil fuels, we can stop global warming and save non renewable energy resources for our future generations to deploy but at the same time we need to seek an alternative to meet our requirements. We come thwart these topics on box, internet and magazines and there is a lot of debate going on with regards to these topics. Is it possible for us to overcome this crisis? Only alternative energy solutions can help us as well as our environment to some extent. Industries that deal with alternative energy solutions like solar and wind power thrive hard to save our environment. Even though modern technologies are being implemented to extract crude oil from places, which weren’t reachable earlier; it’s still not possible to meet the growing demand. The demand for fossil fuels is increasing due to the rapid increase in populace growth. alternative energy solutions have lot of benefits when compared to non renewable energy resources. Industries have started investing their time and cash in researching as well as setting up power plants. With the support provided by government in the form of incentives and the huge demand for renewable energy resources in future, companies can invest in alternative energy stocks, as their business will flourish in the long run. Certain home users hesitate to go for alternative energy solutions as initial investment needs to be made but once the equipment is installed; there won’t be any maintenance expenditure or other repetitive expenditure. Apart from the set up cost, energy from the sun and wind will permanently be free in any part of the country and there is no need for being dependent upon other countries. On the other hand, the prices of renewable energy resources keep increasing and certain countries have to be dependent upon major oil producing countries. Home users who consume alternative energy resources can cut down on their electricity bills. Every system has its own pros and cons but the best and wise thing to do is weigh the options that are available and choose the energy resource that offers long-term benefits. When it comes to alternative energy solutions, setting up solar plants and building windmills is a huge and complicated process but once they are set up, they place forward endless benefits. In case of fossil fuels, oil companies need to locate the proven reserves, dig oil wells, extract oil and exchange into a more usable form so that it can reach the end consumer. Big Oil And Conspiracy To Keep Down Wind Energy Implementation?

Wednesday, July 21st, 2010

Over the past few years interest in wind power has increased. Wind power production has urban significantly since the price of oil has gone up and the extra added expenditure of pollution have become apparent. Why has not more been done? Considering the fact that the amount of wind energy existing in the atmosphere is greater than the present energy use in the world it is surprising. One statistic I have read says if the United States obtains 20 percent of its electricity from wind power by 2020, it will eliminate global warming emissions equivalent to taking 71 million vehicles off the road or planting 104 million acres of trees. Given the huge potential that such studies indicate it is baffling why even more initiative had been placed on wind energy and other forms of green energy strategies?
The clock is running……many sources reveal statistics indicating that if massive action is not take to reduce our greenhouse gas emissions my some 80 by 2050 it is said that some 20-30 percent of the species on the planet will become extinct. A gap exists in that there is an apparent realization that if we take up again on our current course the future will be isolated, yet a lack of action exists to place proven technologies in place to solve the problem. This has led me to the view point from speaking with many of my customers many Americans believe that there must be some sort of conspiracy at work that is keeping wind energy down. In my observation this has become a underlying feature of the American culture when a touch that on the face doesn’t make significance….conspiracy….has to be. For example question yourself? How many of you have heard a tale about a motor invented that ran on an alternative fuel, but huge oil bought it to preserve there financial wellbeing? I do not know anything concerning this legend but my point is if you are reading this article you have probably heard a touch along those lines.
While I am not ready to commit to a conspiracy at this point I have experimental that there are a lot of obstacles to implementing green solutions. It seem bureaucracy and others in society with opposing view points on wind energy have implementation of wind energy slowed to a snails pace. One barrier to mounting worldwide use of wind power is that wind farms must be located on large areas of land or along the coast to capture the greatest wind energy. Appropriating land to wind energy production in some instances conflicts with other agendas, such as farming, urban development, or scenic views from high end homes in prime locations. Many in the public have views that conflict with that of the green energy buff. One may view his residential wind turbine as a delightful feature in the skyline where a neighbor may see it as a noise annoyance and hideous. We consequently in many jurisdictions in the United states have home owner associations which ban wind turbines as well a local ordinances and restrictions on the turbine or limiting height of towers.
Many of the harvest are limited due to utility company regulations. Grid tie inverters the item which allows connecting and interaction with the power grid are very strict. I am aware of as many as five different certifications which may be required depending on the utility company involved. This makes much frustration and confusion for the consumer interested in green power. In many cases plans for such energy generation are abandoned as a consequence. I would also make the observation that much of the manufacturing base has been lost oversea in particular to Plates. We simply do not make enough harvest here in the United states to fill the demand for feature alternative energy product. Until we exchange the way we do business with the world that gap will take up again. So while the evidence is overwhelming what needs to be done an incapacity to act is apparent. Regulation, safety concern, contrasting view points, and bureaucratic red tape slow the movement to wind energy power strategies. Unless a exchange is made to make more simple the processes the worldwide use of wind energy will without a doubt develop too slow to avert the route for humanity that most scientist say is imminent.

Midpoint School Bullying Stopped if You Just Keep Trying!
http://www.bullyzapper.com

By Paula McCoach

So, one of your stop bullying techniques has only made a dent in
making the hardcore bully stop.

Well, try a further.

1. Your first school bully stopping practice was to talk to the
bully, and he/she stopped briefly. Take up again this practice as
long as the victim keeps reporting the bullying.

2. But, just to be sure, add parent contact to your bag of
tricks with this school bully. Once you have enough reports,
some of which should be from teachers, contact the parent and
get them involved in putting a stop to the bullying.

3. Thirdly, with one particular bully, once we got the parent
involved, she signed him up for our in-school counseling program
run by out County Shape Department.

4. He was doing better but was still a small rough around the
edges in terms of bothering others, so we assigned him a mentor
from Bully Zapper Mentor program.

5. He was also receiving special education air force and small
group education and was closely monitored by several teachers
and educational assistants – this helped our bully victims as
well.

6. Class meeting on bullying and teasing were also presented to
this student as well as all our midpoint school students in social
studies classes once a quarter.

7. Irrevocably, several of his bully victims to the top out peer
mediation forms, so he participated in coming up with solutions
to stop bullying in these small group sessions.

By eighth grade, he had a honestly excellent year with decent grades
and minimal interventions. With most bullies one practice will
not do the trick.

Paula McCoach invites you to subscribe to the Bully Zapper

to effectively deal with bullies in elementary and midpoint
school. You will receive a free special report for your

10 Points to keep your network secure and safe from hackers and viruses

Thursday, January 21st, 2010

If you’re connected to the Internet (especially with an “permanently on” connection such as cable or DSL), you’re at risk for intrusion from hackers or with infection from a virus or spyware. This can happen without your knowledge. You can be browsing, logging on and off various web sites, etc., and be compromised. But, you can protect yourself from this type of intrusion by following a few simple steps.

1.. Use a firewall to block all incoming relations from the Internet to air force that should not be publicly available. By default, you should deny all incoming relations and only allow air force you explicitly want to place forward to the outside world.

2.. Enforce a password policy. Complex passwords make it hard to crack password files on compromised computers. This helps to prevent or limit hurt when a computer is compromised. 3.. Ensure that programs and users of the computer use the lowest amount of privileges necessary to complete a task. When prompted for a root or UAC password, ensure that the program asking for administration-amount access is a legitimate application.

4.. Disable AutoPlay to prevent the automatic launching of executable files on network and removable drives, and disconnect the drives when not required. If write access is not required, enable read-only mode if the option is available.

5.. Turn off file sharing if not needed. If file sharing is required, use ACLs and password protection to limit access. Disable anonymous access to mutual folders. Grant access only to user financial statement with strong passwords to folders that must be mutual.

6.. Turn off and remove unnecessary air force. By default, many operating systems install auxiliary air force that are not critical. These air force are avenues of attack. If they are removed, threats have less avenues of attack.

7.. If a threat exploits one or more network air force, disable, or block access to, those air force until a patch is applied.

8.. Configure your email server to block or remove email that contains file attachments that are commonly used to spread threats, such as .vbs, .bat, .exe, .pif and .scr files.

9.. Isolate compromised computers quickly to prevent threats from spreading further. Perform a forensic analysis and restore the computers using trusted media.

10.. Teach employees not to open attachments unless they are expecting them. Also, do not do software that is downloaded from the Internet unless it has been scanned for viruses. Simply visiting a compromised Web site can produce infection if certain browser vulnerabilities are not patched.

When it comes to doing business online, security is a two-way street. Safe online transactions demand smart behavior on the part of consumers and proactive security policies and procedures on the part of Web sites.

Businesses that sell goods or air force online also have a responsibility to keep their transactions secure and confidential. And the more sites know about current e-commerce security threats, the better job they can do at protecting their transactions. Your browser should comply with industry security standards, such as SSL Certificate. SSL(Secure Socket Layer) is a security Protocol.

Keep Hackers From Your Joomla Admin

Thursday, January 7th, 2010

It is becoming more standard for hackers to try to brute force attack your Joomla administrator to gain access to your administrator. Using this method they bombard your admin form with thousands of usernames/password until they find the right combination. Since Joomla doesn’t let you choose the admin username when installing they by now know the username, this makes it twice as simple. If you want to add bonus security, and who doesn’t, it is fortunately very simple.#1: Exchange the admin usernameThe first thing to do is exchange the default admin username. First login to your control panel (evenly cPanel) and go to your database editor (normally phpMyAdmin), then select the Joomla database and browse to the jos_users table. The original user is user id 62, so edit that entry. Pick a username other than “admin”. Doing just this step will stop nearly any chance of being hacked since most will just try the default username.#2: Choose a better admin passwordNow you’ll need to have an admin password that is hard to guess. You’ll want to have at least 8 characters with a mix of lower case letters, upper case letters, numbers and special characters.#3: Use .htaccess protectionWith .htaccess protection there will be 2 logins needed to get into your Joomla admin. BuyHTTP’s Joomla hosting financial statement are protected by a firewall that involuntarily blocks would-be hackers after 5 disastrous login attempts. .htaccess protection can be enabled by logging in to cPanel (or your hosts control panel) and clicking the Password Protect a Directory button. You can then select the “public_html/administrator” directory to protect, and add users who you want to be able to login. These few, simple steps will exponentially increase the security of your Joomla installation.

Five Easy to Make Mistakes That Keep Search Engine Robots Away From Your Website

Thursday, December 31st, 2009

Search engine robots are very simple software programs. If an indexing robot cannot find the content of your website immediately, it will skip your site and go to the next link in the list. For that reason, it is very vital to make sure that search engine robots can index your web pages without problems.

Here are the top 5 elements that drive search engine robots away:

Reason 1: Your robots.txt file is hurt or it contains a typo

If search engine robots misinterpret your robots.txt file, they might completely ignore your web pages.

Dual check your robots.txt file and make sure that you use the disallow parameter only for web pages that you really don’t want to have indexed.

Reason 2: Your URLs contain too many variables

URLs with many variables can produce problems with search engine robots. If your URLs contain too many variables, search engine robots might ignore your pages.

Here’s Google’s official statement about web pages with many variables:

“Google indexes dynamically generated webpages, including .asp pages, .php pages, and pages with question marks in their URLs. But, these pages can produce problems for our crawler and may be ignored.”

Reason 3: You use session IDs in your URLs

Many search engines don’t index URLs that contain session IDs because they can lead to duplicate content problems. If possible, avoid session IDs in your URLs. Better use cookies to store session IDs.

Reason 4: Your web pages contain too much code

Of course, your web pages can contain JavaScript code, CSS code and other script code that is not frankly related to your content. Stay your website with a web browser and select “View source” or “View HTML source”.

If it is hard for you to spot the actual content of your website then search engines might also have difficulty to parse your pages.

Reason 5: Your website navigation causes problems

Fancy JavaScript or DHTML menus cannot be parsed by most search engine robots. Flash or AJAX menus are even worse when it comes to website navigation.

As mentioned above, search engine robots are very simple programs. They can follow HTML links, all other links can produce problems.

Optimized web page content and excellent inbound links are crucial for high search engine rankings. But, the best content and the best links won’t help you much if search engines cannot index your pages.

Make sure that search engine spiders can index your web pages without problems so that your web pages can get the rankings they deserve.

Warmly,

Gary Neame

How To Keep Robots Out Of Your Web Site

Wednesday, December 30th, 2009

THE ROBOTS.TXT FILE

You know that search engines have been produced to help people find information quickly on the Internet, and the search engines buy much of their information through robots (also known as spiders or crawlers), that look for web pages for them.

The spiders or crawlers robots explore the web looking for and recording all kinds of information. They usually start with URL submitted by users, or from links they find on the web sites, the sitemap files or the top amount of a site.

Once the robot accesses the home page then recursively accesses all pages linked from that page. But the robot can also check out all the pages that can find on a particular server.

After the robot finds a web page it works indexing the title, the keywords, the text, etc. But sometimes you might want to prevent search engines from indexing some of your web pages like news postings, and specially marked web pages (in example: affiliate´s pages), but whether individual robots comply to these conventions is pure voluntary.

ROBOTS EXCLUSION PROTOCOL

So if you want robots to keep out from some of your web pages, you can question robots to ignore the web pages that you don´t want indexed, and to do that you can place a robots.txt file on the local root server of your web site.

In example if you have a directory called e-books and you want to question robots to keep out of it, your robots.txt file should read:

User-agent: * Disallow: e-books/

When you don´t have enough control over your server to set up a robots.txt file, you can try count a META tag to the head section of any HTML document.

In example, a tag like the following tells robots not to index and not to follow links on a particular page:

meta name=”ROBOTS” content=”NOINDEX, NOFOLLOW”

Support for the META tag among robots is not so frequent as the Robots Exclusion Protocol, but most of major web indexes currently support it.

NEWS POSTINGS

If you want to keep the search engines out of your news postings, you can make an an “X-no-archive” line in of your postings’ headers:

X-no-archive: yes

But even if common news clients allow you to add an X-no-archive line to the headers of your news postings, some of them don´t permit you to do so.

The problem is that most search engines assume that all information they find is public unless marked otherwise.

So be careful because though the robot and archive exclusion standards may help keep your material out of major search engines there are some others that respect no such rules.

If you’re highly concerned about the privacy of your e-mail and Usenet postings, you must use some anonymous remailers and PGP. You can read about it here:
www dot well dot com/user/abacard/remail.html
www dot io dot com/~combs/htmls/crypto.html
world dot std dot com/~franl/pgp/

Even if you are not particularly concerned about privacy, remember that anything you write will be indexed and archived somewhere for eternity, so use the robots.txt file as much as you need it.
