The general consensus among qualified internet marketers contends that .edu and .gov links carry addition weight compared to ordinary .com links. Itâ??s simple to see why search engines trust these types of sites given their increased authority. The goal here is to participate in blogs and forums to increase your backlinks and thus your ranking. In this post Iâ??ll be covering the relevant challenges, tips and benefits to .gov blog commenting.
You can easily find a slew of government blogs by typing into the Google search bar: â??site: .gov blogâ? or more specifically â??site: .gov business blogâ?. This command tells Google to search for all the blog websites and end in .gov and that relate to business. This simple tip would be fantastic if you just wanted to read government blogs for leisure. Trust me, that is not me. As marketers we want to participate in blog or forum commenting primarily for backlinks which in turn will boost our search engine ranking.
The main challenge and time-consuming task is finding .gov sites that are dofollow in nature. Dofollow is just internet slang for a site not containing the â??nofollowâ? tag in its source code. You can find this out a couple ways. I like using the SearchStatus Firefox add-on which can involuntarily highlight in red a pageâ??s nofollow links. The manual way is to review the source code by pressing control-U and then control-F to search for the term â??nofollowâ?. Finding a nofollow tag inside the anchor text essentially means that your .gov site passes on no pagerank or â??link juiceâ? to your site and thus no value in Googleâ??s eyes.
You can individually sort through the thousands of .gov sites looking for the dofollow ones. Or you can review the fleeting list I included on my blog. These are some of the oneâ??s that Iâ??ve used lately and that work. But, I must caution you. Spammers and comment generating computer programs should stay away. Many of these sites still have comment moderators that can easily delete your comment. While the topic may not identically match your given niche, be sure to demonstrate a personal, genuine touch. Giving your trustworthy opinion on a topic instead of leading with your affiliate link is the general rule of thumb.
Most of sites require registration first. Make a profile and a signature file (for comments) containing your web address.  Include your link in comments by using anchor text or your signature file. You can confirm your dofollow backlinks by referencing the source codes which omit the nofollow tags. Stay my blog and search â??.govâ? to watch a tutorial video.

Website Age – An Important Part Of The Google Pagerank Algorithm
Saturday, March 6th, 2010In any Google SEO effort, one of the most vital elements that is outside the control of any SEO Expert is the age of your domain name or website. Most people are not aware that the age of your website is an vital aspect of Google’s PageRank algorithm. Our testing has found that using the best Search Engine Optimization practices there is a limit that will be reached as to the keywords that we can reach top 10 results in. For example, if you are optimizing your website for keywords that have a monthly search volume of over 10,000 searches, you should expect to be able to reach top 10 organic search results no sooner than 4-6 months after you register your web site and start your SEO efforts.
We have tested these numbers and have arrived at the following conclusions. Google won’t rank new websites for keywords that get very large monthly search volumes for the simple reason that it has to give an advantage to the older, more established websites that have endured the longest. This really makes significance. With the ever-more marketing nature of the internet and the enormous number of sites that are simply produced to exploit user information from visitors, and how quickly they come and go, the number 1 measure of how relevant a website is can only be single-minded by their age.
Keep in mind that an ancient website that continually changes focus and topics will also be tagged as a new website, this practice is to avoid websites who have legitimately gained ranking from using their web status to then promote marketing harvest or air force.
Lesson to learn here: plot ahead, focus your site with excellent plotting ahead of time, so that it only requires small changes during your SEO strategy and not major topic changes.
Get to Know Any Website’s PageRank
Thursday, March 4th, 2010This article is for complete newbies. So, to expert SEO colleagues, you may want to pass this article over. For the newbies, it really does not get simpler than this. Your one-minute article on knowing any website’s Page Rank.
If you are new to SEO (Search Engine Optimization) you will be seeing stuffs like PR and other ranking jagons every now and then. This article will not be dealing with how to get high PR’s, rather it will help you know any website page’s PR. This article means every single word in its title!
PR is just an acronym for PageRank and its in the end Google’s global way of ranking the relevance, value and popularity of a particular page in a website as compared to other pages in the same category or field on the World Wide Web. I wish I could clarify more on that but there are other articles that would handle the detailed information regarding PR.
To get a page’s PR, stay google [dot] com. Search for the term google toolbar . Click on the first result. The download page is shown immediately, click on the icon Download Google Toolbar. Install it on your system. Pronto, that’s it! Restart your web browser and you will instantly see a green bar with the title PageRank either on the top or at the bottom of your browser window.
Google toolbar requires Firefox 2+ Mozilla browser. What on earth’s firefox mozilla browser? Well, it’s a browser [like internet explorer] called firefox mozilla. I reckon you are missing out on alot of cool material if you are still stock with internet explorer and not using firefox. Just my simple opinion.
To your success.
Article Directorys and Article Submission Combat for PageRank and Rankings
Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010Now days there has been a lot of talk about Google devaluing links that are in your articles. I personally have not seen this happening. As long as you are writing and keep writing Google and the SERPS will still value your content and you should still get link juice.
Now it also depends on if your writing for page rankings, Or if your righting to make sales of your harvest. If your writing for the things of SEO and traffic rankings blasting out an article to the directory’s is one of your best defenses. No topic what product the “GURU’s” are trying to sell you. They couldn’t be more incorrect on this issue.
As long as it’s your content that your submitting there won;t be any issues with sending out just one article and blasting it across the internet. You will start noticing your site rankings shoot up. Just remember, You need to keep writing.
My other suggestions are:
Install the Alexa Sparky Toolbar (So you can keep footstep of your Alexa Rankings)
Install the Google Toolbar (So you can keep footstep of your Google PageRank)
Write Articles everyday
Submit them to Article Directorys.
Social Bookmark everything!!!
keep your link like flowing and shoot for the top 100,000 in Alexa. Also, Google wants to take your eyes off from there PageRanking.
Why would they tell you this if they didn’t mean it?
Because, They know PR means cash for you and your site. Google is around not to make you cash, But for them to make cash.
The truth is the SERP’s aren’t interested in us, There interested in the Billions of dollars that are flowing in and out of there pockets.
Get those top rankings and make it happen for yourself.
I wish you pleased Marketing and much success.

What Can We Do To Increase Our Blog Pagerank ?
Sunday, February 28th, 2010Having blog with higher pagerank is very advantageous. For example, if you have blog with pagerank 3 or more, you can monetize it by following paid review program, link trading or selling your domain.
As we know, having links in higly pagerank web or blog can improve search engine result page. So, many webmaster will pay you to place their link in your PR blog.
So, what can we do to increase our blog pagerank ? These are some techniques that you can try :
1. Join forums, forums are a fantastic way to achieve links to your website. In most forums you are allowed to have a signature and in your signature you can place a link to your website. But a further vital note to look on is making sure the forum is somewhat related to your website. You will still get credit if it’s not, but if it’s related to your website than you will be accomplishing two tasks at once.
You will be advertising for your website (bringing in targeted traffic) You will also be building your websites presence.
Your websites presence is very vital to your survival. The more people see, or hear about your website the more credibility you will have and this increases your chances of having these visitors come back and possibly become leads.
2. Submit to search engine directories. Search engine directories are a excellent way to get a free link to your website. They also increase your chances at being listed higher on standard search engines like Google, and overture.
Most search engine directories allow you to submit to their website for free. This will allow you to increase your web presence by being listed on a further search engine, and it will also be a free link.
Remember the more links you have the higher your PR will be
3. Using ezine ads (or newsletters). Making an ezine will probably be the most beneficial step you can take to increasing your web presence. When you make an ezine you will be able to keep visitors coming back to your website for more by using signatures and giving special deals.
Ezine’s will also allow you to increase your back links. By making an ezine you can submit your information about your ezine to an ezine directory. This directory will than link to your website(thus giving you a free link).
4. Making and publishing articles. Articles are an simple source of generating new traffic. You can include your signature in your article. This will bring in more traffic from article submission directories.
Your signature usually consists of 4 to 8 lines. Usually the first line would be the title of the website that you are trying to make known. The last line would be the link to the website and the lines in between these would be a sales pitch to draw your viewers into your website.
5. Links from related websites. Gaining links from related websites can be one of the most frustrating tasks you can attempt.
They are very simple to find, but can be somewhat hard to obtain links from.
To find related websites, all you have to do is go to a search engine… say Google… and type in your subject. Maybe your website is based on ford mustangs.
You go to Google and type in ford mustangs, than you look around for pages that are somewhat related to your website. After you have done this (which should be very simple) you have to contact them in some way to get your link posted on their website. This can be the most hard task because a lot of webmasters ignore e-mail’s from people requesting links because they don’t see the importance of it at the time. Some other reasons could be that they are rarely online, or they delete spam mail and sometimes delete their vital emails in the process.
Vital note: When looking for link partners don’t just link with websites that have a page rank of 4 or higher. Link with anyone and everyone you get a chance to. If you link to a name that has a page rank of zero, this will not hurt your page rank. It will only increase it because you are getting a link back to your website. Google doesn’t look at your back links page ranks to determine what yours is going to be. It simply looks at how many back links you have.
So if Google one day chose to link to a website that was just produced and this website has a page rank of 0 and has a domain that goes a touch like this: mywebsite.geocities.com it’s page rank wouldn’t increase even though Google’s page rank is 10, it’s rank would still be zero because it would only have that one back link.
