Question people to follow you at your Twitter URL. This might seem obvious, but most people still aren’t doing it. I admit, it was lost on me until about a month ago. This needs to be on everything – including your business card. Invite people to follow you by including a question for, hyperlinked to your Twitter profile, in (1) your email signature and (2) the byline under blog posts.

And what sort of guidelines should they follow?Itâ??s simplest for blogging CEOs, especially those like Jupiter Media CEO Alan Meckler, who owns a huge slug of his company for the help www.feed-reader-links.com. Heâ??s been blogging for a year and a half and gets several thousand page views a day. He says: â??Iâ??m the largest stock holder in my company. If I werenâ??t, Iâ??d be more concerned about what the board would reckonâ?¦ A lot of people, to do what Iâ??m doing, would have to get check offs from the legal department, and to cover their ass.â?Meckler uses his blog to trade thoughts, and to hold up Jupiter’s brand in the blogosphere. He’s not shy about going on the attack.But How about those of us who don’t sit in the corner office. Which of us should blog? Who does it right? Who doesn’t? I’d like to get some discussion on this. Meantime, here are some useful pointers from Susan Solomon, a marketing professor in California.And for those with an extra minute for reading, here are some more nuggets from Meckler. They’re from an interview we did for the cover tale. Lots of interviews didn’t make it into the tale. We’ll look for ways to slip bits and pieces into the blog.How did the blog start?Meckler: â??It looked like an appealing sort of way for the CEO to get the message out. Occasionally I will confer with him.â?Will blogs be a huge business?Meckler: Iâ??m somewhat jaundiced about the real fiscal impression, in terms of revenue. About 99.99% of all blogs are essentially worthless. Itâ??s a further medium, thatâ??s all it is.Are the comments valuable for you?Meckler: â??I just opened up recently comments on my blog. Some are very critical of me. Unfortunately, spam has found its way to those comments. In any given day, Iâ??ll get 20 to 30 comments. It seems that a blog is the property of the owner forever, irrespective whether he is committed or not. But you could try to contact him and then convince him, some how to transfer the URL to you. Excellent luck!

Deleting the URL will not make it available to you. it has to be transferred by the owner to you.

Don’t copy from MS Word frankly to your blog-editor.
First copy it to Notepad then copy it from Notepad to your blog-editor.
