Let’s Talk About Webpage Domain Name Registration Reasons and Services

First and foremost is that the Internet is not pass?nd experiencing a downward trend. The fact is its still growing at an astounding daily rate. Most people modern day are computer savoir-faire and a very large majority now really research a product or information online previous to making a choice to buy. If you’re thinking about early or expanding a business opportunity on the Internet the time is right. The first step is to register your business name, even previous to you complete building your a website.

Some of the most basic and understood reasons for wanting to register an independent domain name are as follows;

1. Unique identity. Many search engines will no longer list redundant affiliate Websites as they see them all as simply the same Website which would inundate and clutter their directory. Additionally, Internet surfers are not looking for replicated sites and would search using a service that provides the best and most varying information for a customer’s valuable time. With a personal domain name but, you get Websites listed in search engines, increased exposure and subsequently generate more free traffic and sales for the site you work so hard to place up in the forefront.

2. Professionalism. Customers seek out qualified companies offering feature harvest and air force. A personal domain offers and presents a qualified image, prestige, and invaluable credibility. A personal domain allows the webmaster to customize, add, alter, include or delete and present their harvest and air force in the manner they specifically choose.

3. A further words, Control. The Webmaster (you) have complete control as to what your site looks like and what information it contains.

4. Fleeting, sweet address. Instead of having to make known long, hard-to-remember URLs, you, can make an simple-to-remember domain name (e.g. www.MyBusiness.com). From there, building a Website with links to your Gateway(s) or, in the case of affiliate sites you wish to promote is a simple topic. You can easily set a personal domain to involuntarily redirect (referred to as “URL forwarding”) to a favorite Gateway or any other site. For example, you could make known a name like www.OurBusiness.com, but when your prospects penetrate that URL, they’ll be involuntarily be redirected to the Gateway of your choosing.

5. A Stable address. With a personal domain, you and your family or business can have stable, lifetime e-mail addresses that you’ll never have to exchange. Likewise, you’ll be able to make exactly the e-mail addresses you want (e.g. YourFirstName@YourDomain.com, Info@YourDomain.com, MyBusiness.com, Support@YourDomain.com, etc.).

Like everything, not all similar air force and harvest are produced equally. You do in fact get what you pay for. Domain registrations can go from $1.99 up to and exceed $30 annually. Check the fine print and be sure you know exactly the benefits each registrar has to place forward. There is some pretty common ground out there among the competition.

Some place forward you hosting as well (a place to park your Webpage). Web hosting packages include storage, email financial statement, domain and more air force to consider for your complete business needs! Some sell you a domain name at a highly affordable rate but you might just be sacrificing the ability to transfer your new domain name to a further hosting service so again, read the small print if you have other plans and air force by now in place.

Many domain air force allow you to keep your contact information updated easily by using their Domain Management System. You will also be able to renew your domain name and update the Domain Name Servers (DNS information). By using your unique username and password established when you registered the domain name with their company.

The domain registrar that I personally use has some scarce features such as Word Wizard which allows me to use the name of a major city or state as part of a domain name to make it memorable. The Word Wizard combines my keyword with either category to make a domain name. Then to there is a function called Domain Twist where if you are having distress coming up with an available name, the Domain Twist takes words and gives them a whirl to come up with variations of the original name. A function that I particularly like is in an instance where if you by now own a domain name that you registered using a further registrar you can save cash by taking advantage of their low transfer price. An added benefit to transferring your domain to the service I use is that they will also add one year to the original registration term you had with the company you are transferring you domain name from.

They also let me search and register a maximum of 30 domains at one time and register variations of my primary domain names to avoid confusion and impressionist sites. Best of all now that we all deal with international customers (and I have personally not found it somewhere else) is the ability to make domain names in Korean, Japanese, habitual and simplified Chinese characters. This function means the name you make will work just like any English-character name in that you can penetrate it into your browser and be taken to the corresponding website.

So, in a nut bombard we talked about the advantages of registering a personal domain name and covered some limited information about the air force domain registers place forward. Most importantly, we addressed some unique features offered by the domain registrar I’m thrilled to be associated with and just had to share. You can find out more about my domain service that I’m excited about by visiting the link I placed in the resource box following this article. But in close I’ll say for the third time, read the fine print to ensure they place forward you everything you need as well.

Domain Registration: 4 Quick Rules to Grab a Traffic-pulling Domain Name

Sunday, December 6th, 2009

A friend emailed me, “I’ve found many tips regarding domain registration from the internet. But too many of them and I simply cannot remember them all. I don’t have that much time to spend on those. I wonder if you can provide me a quick summary of the major things I should look out for when registering a domain name, so that it makes life simpler for me?” If you’re like that friend of mine looking for fleeting cuts, then here’s my advice… Honestly, some domain tips are useful and some are not. And for those truly useful tips, they can be further boiled down into 4 simple yet critical major rules that you can apply to guarantee your domain name’s feature and lessen the chances of others “stealing” it from you. Here they are…Rule #1: Fleeting Why fleeting? Firstly, most people cannot remember long domain name. Secondly, long domain name is prone to typo when people type into their browser. You may have heard some so-called gurus saying that your domain name should be long so that it looks more descriptive and at a glance, people will be able to tell what you’re selling. Well, this is right. But it may not be preferable because as mentioned earlier, long domain name is hard to remember and prone to typo. Agree? Hence, as a rule of thumb, you should go for fleeting domain name (like “Yahoo” and “Google”) so that people are more likely to remember your domain name and get on your website again and again and again… Many people are complaining that it’s hard to get a fleeting domain name nowadays. Well, not right. If you place in your heart and soul to reckon, you’ll certainly come up with one. I guarantee. To get your creative juices flowing, you can try this: search for “expired domain name” in search engines. Who knows out of the expired list you may find the right domain name for your website. Or even better, the list may inspire you to come up with your very own unique domain name. Right?Rule #2: Logical There are two ways here: either you register a domain name that logically matches what you’re selling or, you simply use your company name as your domain name. For example, if you sell ebooks online, you should register ebooks dot whatever extension you like (preferably dot com because it’s still the most standard extension todate). Or if your company name is called Example Pte Ltd, you should register “example.com”. Period.Rule #3: Spell Check ALWAYS do a spell check on the domain name previous to you proceed to make the buy (register). Just to let you know, registered domain name is refundable provided you question for for the refund within 5 days from the date of registration. If you register a domain name wrongly, for instance, instead of “example.com”, you registered “exampe.com” (fleeting of ‘l’ — typo) instead, you can question for a refund so long as you do not exceed the qualified period for refund which is generally 5 days. (Note: Some domain registrars may have different qualified period for refund. Hence, it’s advisable for you to check with that particular domain registrar previous to you register the domain name with them.) On the other hand, if you do not question for refund within the qualified period, then that misspelled domain name will be attached to you until it expires (the minimum expiry period is one year). You can’t edit the name even in your domain control panel, it’s fixed once registered. See, you waste cash on a domain name you can’t use due to its incorrect spelling. So, don’t take chances. Spending just a further 20 seconds to ensure your domain name is error-free is really a excellent bargain.Rule #4: Register NOW! According to statistics, more than 65 domain names are being registered worldwide in every second. So, please do not wait. Once you’ve thought out a excellent domain name, quickly go snap it up previous to a name else does. Or you’ll be too late for the grab. I hope you can permanently remember and stick closely to these 4 fundamental yet vital rules when you register a domain name.

The A-b-cs of Domain Name Registration

New Page 1

Previous to registering a

domain name, know the facts. Domain name registration is simple – finding the

perfect domain name for your personal or business website is not! There are

thousands of possibilities for your domain name, but you can only choose one

domain name for a website. So, you must make it count! Here are some pointers to

get you started with domain name registration. It’s simpler than you reckon.

Keep your Domain Name Simple

A domain name should be simple so visitors will remember it easily. What’s

simpler to remember – three or four words, or only one or two words? Obviously a

fleeting, simple domain name is simpler to remember. The shorter the name, the less

likely people are to misspell it as well. Your goal in choosing a domain name

should be to find one that is simple to remember, simple to spell, and will stand

out in the minds of visitors. It should be related to your harvest and

air force, or personal website theme.

TIP: Avoid using your company name initials or your own name initials. These do

not describe anything at all about your website’s theme. Visitors will not

remember it unless you promote it heavily on inhabitant box and all over

the Web. But, we’ll leave that to “Corporate Web” for now!

Domain Name Registration Pricing

Don’t be fooled by high domain name registration prices. Whether you pay a low-cost

domain name registration fee or a high fee, you’re still getting the same thing

- a domain name! There’s no secret add-on service that can benefit you unless

you’re getting web hosting or a low-cost web site with your domain name.

Otherwise, domain name registration is the same whether you order a low-cost domain

name or an expensive one. Be sure to shop around previous to you register.

Checking Domain Name Availability

You can stay nearly any web hosting site to check the availability of a domain

name. Never assume a domain name is available just because it doesn’t show

online when you try to bring it up in your browser. If a domain name is not

showing online, it could be that the site’s server is down at the moment, the

owner is still designing a new web site and hasn’t place it online yet, or the

owner might be trying to sell the domain name. When you check to see if the

domain name is available, you do not have to buy it from the site where you

checked. You can buy it from any company that offers domain name

registration once you know it is available.

Beware of Expired Domain Names

If you are considering buying an expired domain name, do research previous to

completing the domain name registration process. You could be wasting your

cash! Question the registrar questions about why the domain name has expired, what

type of site it was previous to expiring, etc. Some expired domain names have been

banned from the search engines all together because they were used by spammers

or those selling illegal harvest or air force. If that were the case, you’d be

better off finding a further domain name. Once a site is banned from the search

engines, getting it listed again is nearly impossible. Your chances for excellent,

targeted traffic are next to none.

Web Hosting and Domain Names

Some companies place forward both web hosting and domain name registration. Others might

place forward one or the other, or a combined package where you can get a low-cost web

site along with a low-cost domain name and web hosting. Though it’s simpler to keep

up with billing and expenses if you do all this through one company, you are not

required to host your site with the same company where you register your domain

name. It will not affect how your web site air force are handled, or how you

operate your site.

Domain name registration can be an simple process once you choose on the right

domain name. Your domain name will be a key player in your online success, so

take your time to choose a winner! Domains

Does Domain Registration Length Effect Search Engine Rankings

Sunday, November 15th, 2009

Does the part of your website’s domain name registration affect the search results at Google? This question has come up recently and a lot of website owners have been wondering about it, especially since it was mentioned in a patent awarded to Google in April. According to the patent, “Certain signals may be used to distinguish between illegitimate and legitimate domains. For example, domains can be renewed up to a period of 10 years. Valuable (legitimate) domains are evenly paid for several years in advance, while doorway (illegitimate) domains rarely are used for more than a year. Therefore, the date when a domain expires in the future can be used as a factor in predicting the authenticity of a domain and, thus, the documents associated therewith.” According to this statement in the patent, domains that expire in 10 years are more valuable and legitimate than domains that will expire in less than a year.

Google, in general, is permanently looking for ways to weed out the terrible (spammers) from the good (legitimate) websites. I suspect that they looked for a pattern among the excellent, legitimate websites and found that most excellent, legitimate websites have a stanchness towards their business and their domain name-they register it for a long period of time. In other words, the theory behind all of this is that if you register a domain name for several years it shows Google that you’re committed to that domain name. If you register a domain name for 1 year then you’re not as committed to that domain name. A lot of spammers use “throw away” domain names and register them for only a year. So, Google uses the part of time that a domain is registered to determine whether the owner of that domain name is committed to it or not.

One domain name owner I talked to recently told me that renewing his domain names once each year was a part of his business plot. He made a certain amount of cash each year from each domain name/website, and he didn’t want to cut into the profits of each site by renewing each domain name all at once for several years. “Renewing a domain name for 10 years or even 2 years ahead of time means that I have to spend more cash. If I have to come up with $50 or $100 more per year for the domain renewal fees it cuts into my profits”, says John, who wished to remain anonymous. John’s website is probably exactly the type of website that Google desires to identify. Google is looking to identify feature, well-established websites whose owners are committed to their domain names. According to the statements made in Google’s patent, Google thinks that websites that have been renewed for a long period of time meet that standard.

Should you renew your domain name for a long period of time? And if so, how long is long enough? If you want to stay ahead of your competition, then you might consider looking at the part of time your competitors have registered their domain names. If your competitors have generally renewed their domain names for one or two years, you might consider registering your domain name for 5 or 10 years. While putting off your domain name’s expiration date might help your search engine rankings, keep in mind that this may be only a small boost (or a “tie-surf” among two websites) when it comes to the actual search engine rankings. And, be aware that just because Google has a patent on the thought it doesn’t mean that they’re really using those criteria now to rank websites. They, too, want to stay ahead of their competition (mainly Yahoo! and MSN).

I’ve registered the domains that I really care about for at least 10 years. Initially, I registered these domains for a long period of time because I didn’t want to lose them-and I didn’t want to go through the somewhat-lengthy once a year process of renewing them every year. Since most domain names I own come up for renewal at different times during the year, it seemed as though I was renewing a domain name at least once a month-and renewing them for a few years put it off for a while.

Expired domain name buyers are prevalent nowadays. If your domain name expires, there’s a good chance that a name watching will register your domain name within seconds after it expires. If, for whatever reason, you don’t renew your domain name, a name watching a ‘watch list’ of expiring domain names will try to capitalize on the online business that you’ve built over the years. They know that there is potential website traffic they can have simply by renewing your old domain name. By renewing your domain name for several years, your domain name won’t expire for a while, and it won’t be opened up to expired domain name buyers.

If you really want to stay ahead of the competition, you might consider registering or renewing your domain name for 100 years. Currently, Network Solutions (www.netsol.com) is the only registrar offering the 100 year option, which expenditure $999.00. GoDaddy (www.godaddy.com), currently offers to renew or register a domain name for 10 years, at a discount of $6.95 per year. Dotster (www.dotster.com), another leading registrar, offers domain name registration and renewals for up to 10 years at a cost of $129.95.

What’s the bottom line? If you’re committed to your online business, your website, and your domain name, then renewing your domain name for a long period of time will not only stop expired domain buyers from registering your domain name when it expires, it will show Google that you’re committed to it-and that may give you a boost in the search engine rankings, as well.
