Monday, March 8th, 2010Tips To Get Rt’d On Twitter
Sunday, March 7th, 2010â??New blog post! 10 tips to â?¦â?¦â?¦Â Please RT!â??
Simple and simple, but not the most effectual way to get your tweets retweeted.
The second one is if you are posting a link, try to include numbered lists. Everyone likes a numbered list, for example, same as I said above
â??New blog post! 10 tips to â?¦â?¦â?¦â??
This one works sometimes, but donâ??t do it all them time. Itâ??s probably best off if itâ??s only a one-off really. Just post the link. You know how curious you get when you see a link all on itâ??s own; â??Oooooooh wonder what that is?â?? Other people will be just as curious. The reason I said not to do this too much is that you may start to lose the trust of your followers.
Say thank you. Anyone who retweets one of your tweets, either thank them with a DM, or a peep would be better, because then your followers will see their profile link. Or you could retweet one of their tweets.
Research the Twitter bots. Some people might look upon this as cheating a bit, but as long as you donâ??t do it too much, donâ??t feel terrible! Research what bots are on Twitter, such as the Facebook one for example; they will retweet most things you say, as long as they include a specific hashtag.
Curiosity. Curiosity is the last tip Iâ??m going to give you today. Imagine you are reading your peep. How would it have to sound for you to be interested enough to click it?
I hope you found these helpful. If anyone want to share any more tips they may have, please leave a comment.
Twitter: A Customer Service Breakthrough?
Sunday, March 7th, 2010When you actively connect with your customers, they remember you longer and are more likely to reward you with increased sales. When it comes to connecting with customers, many companies are turning to Twitter. But why?
Increasingly, companies are finding that they can tune in to consumer buzz about their brands through Twitter. Twitter’s ever-convenient Twitter Search allows anyone to monitor keywords and key phrases, including company name, to read what people are tweeting about, much like what Google Blog Search does in the blogosphere.
Companies like Comcast and Zappos have by now delegated customer service representatives, or digital detectives, to hunt for and resolve customer complaints via Twitter. Ultimately, Twitter as a customer service platform has proven to be a success!
Of course, you can take advantage of this unique customer service angle as well…it’s not just for corporations! Follow these simple steps to bring your customer service into web 2.0!
Get on Twitter!
Of course, you’ll want to open your free Twitter account! (It will probably be the quickest account creation you’ve ever experienced!)
After that, your first stop in Twitterland is the very useful Twitter Search page. All day long, Twitter users peep their experiences, interactions, and thoughts. Plenty of those users may be your customers!
Go to Twitter Search, run a search for your company’s name, harvest or air force, and see what your customers are saying!
http://search.twitter.com
If you come across any complaints, or even positive comments, now is the time to make a connection with your consumers!
Make A Connection!
Twitter avails you a proactive opportunity to thank pleased customers, and to help miserable customers-it’s viral! Take your customers seriously, especially if they’re enraged and dissatisfied with your company…those are the customers you really want to listen to!
Take a lesson from Comcast, one of the major exchanges companies. A team of Comcast employees joined Twitter, and has 10,000+ followers that they keep up with! They listen to what customers have to say and respond with tweets to their solutions.
Their Boss of Digital Care makes sure that each customer is satisfied. That’s the kind of customer care you want to make synonymous with your brand!
Establish a Twitter Strategy!
Once you’re on Twitter and are following customers, you’ll want to come up with a strategy for customer service. For instance, look at Zappos’ Twitter for inspiration…
Zappos displays a fantastic example of Twitter conduct, with over 450 Zappos employees involved, and they retain plenty of repeat customers because of their stellar consumer relations.
Many people also follow Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh because he pays attention to his followers’ tweets and acknowledges their tweets through his own, which makes them feel more personally connected. Do you see the pattern?
Your strategy should not only include addressing concerns about your harvest or air force, or resolving the issue at hand, but also should entail paying attention to your customers. Comeback to an unrelated peep once in awhile, or peep a small a touch (nice) about them on your Twitter!
Is Twitter a Customer Service Breakthrough?
In fleeting, Twitter is one of the largest names in social networking, and can be used reasonably successfully as a customer service platform. Is it a customer service breakthrough? Not really, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t advantageous. In fact, it’s a fantastic way to keep your finger on the pulse of your customers. Also, it’s not just for corporations…your online business can benefit from it too!
10 Tips For Using Twitter For Seo
Saturday, March 6th, 2010If you use Twitter for your business and to promote your website, there could be some areas that you can improve on to help you use SEO. The increase in social networking has provided new means for business owners and website owners to promote and market their harvest and air force online. It is also a fantastic way to market and connect with others all through an account that you have with Twitter. While there are a variety of ways that you can use SEO to increase your search engine rankings and get more traffic to your website, these ten tips will help you make the most of your Twitter financial statement.1.Choose a Excellent Handle – this is a excellent way to help you boost your SEO by using your Twitter financial statement. You should try to pick a handle that is optimal and is related to the harvest and brands that you are promoting through your online campaigns. Your handle is also called your username and it should be a touch that personalizes your account and makes it simple to recognize what you are promoting and the nature of your campaign. It also makes a static address that could be helpful for indexing. The more distinctive your handle is, the more successful your online promotions can be and the more users that you can attract. 2.Select your account name – you should try to get the most benefits out of your Twitter account by choosing an account name that reflects what you do and what you want other people to see. Aside from wanting an account name that relates to your business, you should also try to focus on the SEO. This includes thinking about which account name would help in the search engines and what has the most frequently searched words. Use only the words that are really related to what you are promoting. 3.Make the Biography page work – you can use the Bio line feature on Twitter to help make a qualified and effectual description about your harvest that you are promoting. You will have 160 characters in your Bio to describe what you want others to view about your business and make them want to join and follow you on Twitter. The words that you choose for your bio tell other users what it is that you are selling and the nature of what you are doing. Be specific and try to enhance the points that you want others to see.4.Spread the Number of Contacts – you should focus on ways that you can build links to your Twitter account and how you can best use the social networking tools to enhance the harvest that you are marketing. You can use your Twitter account to your advantage by placing a call to action for it on your website. This allows customers to follow the link and connect with you on Twitter. It is simple to set up, and can broaden the number of people that you are able to reach. It also helps to increase the usability of your website and networks all of the contacts that you have on your website to your twitter account.5.Use the URL – when you are setting your Twitter account, be sure to add in the URL of your web site to help promote your presence on other social networking places. This can help draw contacts and new customers from all of the other online media sources that you may be using. Between all of your financial statement together and on the other websites is a fantastic way to stay connected to people and to make an online presence that is universal.6.Choose the characters of your peep correctly – each peep that you make on Twitter can be vital as it is related to SEO. It can determine what is going to appear in the peep tag that shows up on search result pages from Google. There are about 42 characters that are used to factor in on each peep tag and this includes the account name. You should choose the characters that you are using to best describe not only your business but also what is likely to get you the best rankings from search engines. 7.Use keywords in your tweets – when you are able, you should start out each peep with a keyword phrase or theme to start the message. You can use any keywords that are going to help you strengthen your SEO and to get the best searches from those terms. Remember that you do not want to fill your peep with empty phrases and SEO, but rather use creative keywords along with your message to enhance it and improve your visibility with search engines.8.Retweetability – this refers to the character limitations that Twitter has for each account. You need to optimize these characters to obtain retweetability. If you want your message to be a hit on Twitter. You should try to keep it under the 120 character limit so that anyone who is following you and wants to retweet you can easily add it to your handle and place it in front of the peep. Keeping the number of characters that you use lower than what is allowed makes enough space for a name to retweet you.9.Use links – you can insert back links that are designed to take users back to the content that you have. Twitter has been shown to improve the traffic that you can get to your website so you want to use it as much as you can as a way to add links. If you want to share links, you can also make links to your other social networking sites along with your web site. If you use a blog to connect with other professionals and with customers, you can make a link to your blog on Twitter that makes it simple for users to get to your blog and read the content.10.Direct users to excellent content – this is an vital step in using Twitter. If you are going to have links that go to other content websites or to your own, make sure that you are directing your users to go frankly to the pages that have the content. You do not want to make your users look around for it and try to figure out what it is. If you are talking about a topic and provide a link to go to content on your website, be specific and only direct users to that content.
10 Secrets to Using Twitter to Attract More Followers and Get More Clients
Friday, March 5th, 2010Copyright (c) 2008 OnlineBizU.com
I do wonder at times if some Twitter users have any time to get any work done. Several of the more prolific ones that I follow swear they spend no more than 30 minutes a day on Twitter, but I really find that hard to believe. Many times it seems they are twittering just to say a touch, like “Excellent morning Twitterverse” when they start their day, give more details than I want to know about what they had for lunch, what their children said to them, or when they take a nap.
I realize that this is part of the “like, know, and trust” process that enables people to get to know each other, but sometimes it’s simply too much information..LOL. I’m Twittering primarily to market my business. Consequently, I try and limit my personal twitters to no more than 2 per day. My clients, who make Twitter financial statement for marketing, as well, tell me, “I’m signed up. Now what in the world do I Twitter about? How do I market my business with this tool?”
Here are 10 strategies that I use evenly to marketing my business and my expertise via Twitter. Remember, you have only 140 characters for your peep (Twitter post).
1. How you’re helping clients. Talk about specific ways that your business helps clients and use their Twitter ID if you have their consent, i.e. “Just finished @clientname brainstorm fantastic Internet marketing plot for 2009″ or “Irrevocably finished setting up Quickbooks for local hardware store — now they can invoice their clients”
2. What you’re doing in your own business. This is a perfect time to tell others when you’re blogging, writing an article, making your weekly ezine, recording your podcast, i.e. “Had fantastic interview with Jane Smith today on speaking to grow your biz. Fantastic thoughts! Subscribe to podcast & listen here ”
3. Useful tool or resource you’ve found. I run across these all the time in my daily activities, and Twitter is a perfect place to share,. i.e. “Found fantastic new Firefox plug-in to monitor & check multiple Gmail financial statement at same time at ” or “Read fantastic blog post on working at home with kids under 5 at (URL here)”
4. Question a question. Need some thoughts or some quick brainstorming? Twitter is an ultimate place to gather opinions, i.e. “Help! Desperately seeking new laser printer. Recommendations?” or “How do I find training organizations online?”
5. Conduct a survey. What do your Tweeps reckon about a particular issue? Question them via Twitter, i.e. “Quick poll: Do you get more clients from Facebook or Twitter? Respond at (URL here)”
6. Report on live events. The newest Twitter trend seems to be tweeting what’s happening at conferences or workshops. In order for Twitter users to follow a particular event, it’s usually referred to by a name preceded by a # sign, as in #JVAlert, for example, to make it simpler for people who want to follow those posts. So, if you were at an event, you might peep “#JVAlert John Smith speaking on affiliate programs. Just got fantastic thought on training affiliate managers!” Just don’t get so wrapped up in tweeting that you ignore the content delivered in the conference!
7. Product or service launch. If you’re about to launch a new product or introduce a new product, let your Twitter followers know, i.e. “Pre-launch pricing for new DVD set about how baby boomers can start an online biz. Get $100 early bird discount at (URL here)”
8. Responding to others with advice or answers. The way to build qualified relationships on Twitter is to help your tweeps. So, if a name questions a question, comments about a touch to which you have a response or an thought, or you want to question a followup question, this is the perfect place to do so.
9. Acknowledging new followers. I’ve noticed a recent trend of acknowledging people who’ve chose to follow a Twitter user in the past day or so. I initially thought that others were doing this as a measure of popularity, but what I’ve come to realize that it’s really helping out the new followers because it exposes their Twitter profiles to others who may have never heard of them and who might like to follow them. So, to thank your followers, you’d peep, “Welcome new followers @twittername, @twittername, etc.”
10. Automate your tweets. Many of my tweets have been automated and connected to other things I do. TwitterFeed turns all of my blog posts into tweets. aWeber turns each ezine issue into a peep. EzineArticles.com tweets my followers every time I publish an article through their service. Typically all that’s involved here is connecting the particular service to my Twitter account. Once all the air force are connected, I get free and automated Twitter posts with no bonus effort on my part.
Twitter can be a fantastic time-waster or a wonderful way to market your business and leverage your expertise online. Follow these 10 strategies and you’ll start to attract more followers and get more clients through social networking.
Twitter – What Is An Rt And Why Do We Do It?
Thursday, March 4th, 2010In this post, I am going to clarify briefly what a Retweet is and why we do it.
So; a Retweet is when you see a nameâ??s peep and, well â?¦. Retweet it.
When you RT a nameâ??s peep, the peep will start RT: @twitteruser â?¦â?¦â?¦â?¦..
The reason that we Retweet people is that we will either find it appealing, or we reckon that some of our followers may find it appealing.
Letâ??s say that the person doing the RT is person A, and the person being RTâ??d is person B.
There are no real benefits for person A when they RT person B, apart from that maybe in the future, to say thank you, B will RT one of Aâ??s tweets.
There are, but, benefits for B. Everyone of Bâ??s followers have by now seen his Peep. When it gets RTâ??d by A, everyone of Aâ??s followers would see the peep as well. If this was a link, B would benefit from more people seeing and clicking his link, so it will increase his traffic. If it is a touch else, that may interest Aâ??s followers, they may choose that they want to see more of this content, and will follow B as well.
In fleeting, when you get RTâ??d by a name, you are increasing the reach your Peep has, which will, in turn, either bring to somebody’s attention traffic, your follower numbers, or your reputation; sometimes all three!!
So there you have it; What a Retweet is, and why we use them. In the next post, I will give you all some tips on how to get RTâ??d. So, keep waiting for my Tweets! (And RT them!!)
Is Twitter For Twits?
Thursday, March 4th, 2010I hear it all the time. The people on twitter are twits, twittering tales of hairballs and haircuts. Bloggers have been moaning about the noise on twitter, and predicting the date the site will close down, yet twitter remains a powerful exchanges force in the online world.
I reckon it has a touch to do with that thing they call API…the material programmers use to talk to twitter and make other tools that use twitter information for a touch else. I didn’t really know what use it would be to aggregate all these useless posts, until I noticed that some people are posting really valuable material. Like the BBC and CNN! Yes, these news sites twitter their top headlines into their twitter account, for all the world to see.
Now, things like twittervision are appealing, and give you a foretaste of world twitter activity, but it sure can waste time too…kind of like what a twit would do, right?
With a small thoughtfulness, you might be able to imagine twittervision done right – showing only the twitters of your acquaintances or a region. So far, that’s not happening. But there are a lot of powerful tools being urban to make twitter more personal and available. Like the SMS integration, which lets you read and respond to twitterings from your cell phone. Or twitterfox, a firefox browser plugin that lets your twitters pop up while you surf. This latter tool is even more powerful now, by filtering the answers from your posts, so you can scroll through the responses from others, and respond to them with one click of the mouse.
Other people are using twitter for business, and developing their reach even further simply by posting some of their work on twitter. Lately, I have found poets, reporters, marketers, ceo’s, and others, all focusing their twitters to provide useful content relating to their specialty. It makes me reckon that soon all the major business exchanges will be carried over twitter, as a new medium to reach a wider audience.
The beauty of twittering is it is like instant messaging, without being instant. People don’t expect an immediate response, don’t see if you are online or not, but do get to see your response when you post it, so they can catch up to the conversation when they want to, and respond to things without nerve-racking about the interactive requirements of a phone conversation or instant messaging session (huge time wasters in this world of ours).
Still, there are millions of people using twitter, and many of them are twits, twittering about toilets and termites that no one else wants to hear about. I like people who do a touch to fix this problem, and one free tool is at Quotably, and lets you search twitter and group responses into conversations that you can read and respond to. It’s reasonably powerful when you reckon about it, and perhaps it will help you to see where twitter might go in the future.
It’s an exciting world for the twitterers of today.
Twitter For Musicians and Bands: A How-To Guide
Wednesday, March 3rd, 2010Part of the beauty of Twitter is that it can be many things to many people. As part of my effort to recruit as many people to Twitter as possible, I chose that I should write posts about how Twitter can be used in different situations. For example, of course you can just use Twitter to make plans with your acquaintances, but the interactivity of Twitter can be very useful for people in all sorts of different professions. I’m going to attempt to come up with as many different uses for it as I can and I’m going to start with the one I feel (for better or worse) qualified the most to talk about: using Twitter to promote your band or music.
Your Fans Really Do Care What You’re Doing
Believe it or not, if you’ve been making music for a while, you’ve probably accumulated a not-insignificant group of fans who are interested in what you do on a daily basis. These are the fans that download all your songs (whether you want them to or not), go to all your shows and buy all your t-shirts. Every band has these, no topic how long you’ve been around or how terrible your music is. These are the people that you can cater to with Twitter.
I suggest updating at least twice a day. Once when you get up you should post what you’re going to be doing that day, whether or not it’s related to your music, and once when your day is done to let them know how it went. Believe me, if Cedric and Omar from The Mars Volta or Daft Punk were on Twitter, you better believe I would be following them and would get super excited when they updated, even if it was just to let me know that they were eating a bowl of Cheerios.
Promoting Your Shows
Twitter can be an extremely effectual promotional tool because you can question people to come to your shows on several different occasions. If you are booking a tour, I suggest updating on Twitter when the dates are finalized and between to the posted dates on your web site. Also, the day previous to the show, as well as the day of, you can update reminding everyone to come out to see you.
If you have enough fans and followers, you could make them feel extra special by having exclusive shows or afterparties that you only mention on Twitter. Once your fans find out that you are having these secret events, they will start following you on Twitter, so increasing your reach.
Take Requests
Since Twitter makes it so simple to interact with your fans, why not question them what they want to hear when they come to your show? Maybe you’ve been neglecting to play an ancient fan favorite. Twitter is an simple way to find out what your fans want to hear, straight from the source. All they have to do is either direct message you or comeback to you using the @ symbol.
Twitter-Exclusive Downloads
Say thank you to your largest fans by giving your Twitter followers the heads up on exclusive new songs and videos. Posting a link on Twitter and NOT your web site says that you really value your fans enough to give them a touch special. Of course, once word gets out that you have a new song available for download, your non-Twittering fans will download it, but your Twitter followers will feel special because you gave them the heads up first.
Get Instant Pointer
Not sure if that hook you’re writing is trash or gold? Post a clip on Twitter and if you have enough followers, you’ll get instant pointer in minutes! Jason Calacanis, founder of Weblogs Inc. and Mahalo, uses it to get pointer on new designs for Mahalo. Sure, you could say that the fans should have no impression on the music you make, but if you want, you have an instant focus group that has your best wellbeing at heart, wants you to succeed and want to have you take their pointer into significance.
Twitter-Exclusive Contests
This cascade along the same lines as taking requests via Twitter, apart from it’s more fun. You could make a contest in which they plug your new song or upcoming show in one of their updates and that enters them into a depiction where the winner gets free tickets to an upcoming show in their area. You get free promotion, they get to come to your show for free and their followers check out your new song. It’s a win-win for everyone involved.
This is really just scratching the surface of how musicians can leverage Twitter to build their brand, increase their audience and get more people to hear their music. I’m sure as time goes on and more and more bands adopt Twitter the way they did MySpace, we’ll see some really innovative ways to use Twitter, but these thoughts should be enough to get you started. Excellent luck and follow me on Twitter!

How To Market On Twitter By Tweeting Great Content: Don’T Run The Risk Of Being Un-Followed
Monday, March 1st, 2010Twitter has become a major force in the social media landscape. And it has become a powerful resource for marketers. But there is a paradox with marketers using Twitter. Social media is about socializing and connecting with others who share your wellbeing. Yet marketers have found that social media sites like Twitter are a fantastic resource to connect with their target audience. So how does a peddler socialize and market on Twitter?
How Do You Market On Twitter?
It all comes down to marketing strategy. Marketers have to remember that socializing comes first when it comes to Twitter (and other social media sites). Â If all the peddler does is peep marketing messages, their followers will feel like theyâ??re getting spammed. And the first thing a name will do if they feel like theyâ??re getting spammed is un-follow you. Excellent bye target market.
A peddler has to share, i.e., peep, fantastic content with their followers. Your tweets should be 80% content, such as sharing useful information and experiences, and early conversations with people. The other 20% of your tweets can be marketing related. Sharing content your followers find appealing and useful will establish you as a name who can be trusted, and build your credibility, and authority.
Where Do You Find Material To Peep?
One place is StuffToTweet.com. This website lists standard and appealing articles, videos, how-toâ??s, and recipes.
You can also peep:
Do a Google search for these different types of media and youâ??ll find plenty of options.
You can also find content by using Google Alerts. Tell Google what topics you are interested in and Google will send you an email with a list of content for that topic.
How Much Should You Peep Each Day?
You should peep right through the day, keeping the 80/20 rule in mind. But letâ??s get real. Who wants to be tied to Twitter all day? Granted there are some people who like to be on Twitter all day, but most people are too busy and staying on Twitter all day is impractical.
So what should you do? Use a service such as SocialOomph.com, which use to be called TweetLater. SocialOomph allows you to schedule your tweets right through the day, week, or month. Itâ??s simple to do. Just write your peep and schedule the time and date you want your peep to go out. The service is free.
