Alternative Energy Types – How They Are Utilized Today

Tuesday, July 27th, 2010

We are running out of natural resources which need to be preserved, so alternative energy sources are necessary to deal with this crisis. More development and research is needed in this area so that we can go ahead to look for replacements for the near future. Currently we are dependent on foreign countries for their export of oil for our use, and we still rely on the ancient use of fossil fuels. We need to look beyond this and start to use available alternative energy sources, of which there are many. The sooner we start the better so we can avoid the worsening situation which experts believe is looming over us. Once alternatives have been sourced, we need to explore how best to use them so that systems can be place in place at the earliest convenience.
wind power is very much a possible alternative as many wind turbines are now in use. It is less expensive to set up and we take up again to develop them steadily for use as well-organized energy. There are many wind farms which have been urban worldwide and strategically placed to avoid any hurt to the environment and also birds.
Most of us have heard of solar energy which is a further energy source which is a excellent workable alternative. We have all seen solar panels which are manufactured with many solar cells that harness the sun’s energy so that it can be converted into electricity for many uses like heating water. This resource is very environmentally friendly as it does not pollute the air.
One energy that most of us have not heard of is ocean energy. This is renewable energy from the sea which experts believe to have huge benefits as a power source for the future. There is the potential to generate an enormous amount of energy and for years countries like France, Ireland and Scotland have by now used generators to successfully use this source for power.
Hydroelectric power is one of the oldest alternative energy sources. Powerful generators uses water and converts it into electricity. It is limited in that you can’t build large dams somewhere, which were largely used to control floods and for irrigation. They also affect natural habitat even if they are clean running and excellent for the environment. There are now smaller electric generators now being set up to so they can be more localised.
Geothermal energy is a natural resource of which there is an abundance, and is found just not more than the earth’s surface. We produce this type of energy by using the earth’s molten core to heat up water. The steam that is produced from the heated water is then used for running turbine engines so that it is converted to electricity. Experts say that more extensive research should be done in this area to that we can learn how to tap into this geothermal energy.
Instead of using gas to run our cars and engines we can use Ethanol. It is derived of strawberries, sugar cane, wheat, wood and wood cellulose. This type of fuel source may not be as economically feasible according to experts, so it may not be viable as an energy source.
Biodiesel energy could potentially be a further excellent energy source. It is made of plant oils. Seeds, soybeans and other oils could potentially be used to make up biodiesel, even if the progress on this is slow to develop as an energy resource. If we to use this on a large scale it would not be feasible economically, even if it is much more clean running than diesel as it is oil based. It is also clean and environmentally friendly.

Types of Online Auction

Saturday, July 24th, 2010

The different types of online auction is straight auction, reserve auction, Dutch auction, confidential auction, overstock auction. An English auction on the internet is called as absolute auction, ascending price auction, English auction, forward auction, reserve price auction, standard auction, Yankee auction. A classic Dutch auction is called as Dutch auction, reverse auction, and bidder’s choice.

A sealed bid auction on the internet is called as confidential auction, sealed bid auction. A Dutch -vickrey auction on the internet is also called as vickrey option. Proxy bidding agents on the internet is called as proxy auction, robo bid. An online auction means buying and selling of harvest by the process of bidding and then offering the goods to the highest bidder on the internet. There are various types of online auction, the most common being English auction.

In this type of auction, a reserve price is fixed for the goods and the customers place forward larger and larger bid. Irrevocably, the product is sold to the highest bidder. Different people place forward different bid prices; the bid is completed once the highest bidding is done by a person and no one does bidding after that. After the hammer has been hit no one can bid. In some cases, when the reserve price is not revealed, the bid ends if no one is willing to bid an amount higher than the reserve price.

The habitual method of English auction includes the use of a candle. In this method, the winning bid was that the last one which was offered just previous to a candle died out. A Dutch auction is a method of selling in which the price is reduced until a buyer is found. For example, the home was offered in a Dutch auction beginning at $150,000. The auctioneer lowered the price gradually in $5,000 increments until a bidder was found willing to pay $120,000. Therefore, the home was sold for $120,000.

Confidential auctions are auctions with a special setting that hides the identities of all bidders. This means that people who view your auction page cannot see any of the bidders on the item. Confidential auctions should be used when an item is highly collectible and to hide bidder’s identities on bits and pieces that could be embarrassing if anyone viewed their recent bids list. A vickrey auction is a type of sealed bid auction, where bidders submit written bids without knowing the bid of the other people in the auction. the auction was produced by William vickrey.

In most cases there will be a lot hidden from view and that can be a factor in your favor. These types of auctions may use an auctioneer or they may be conducted by the owner or an employee of the facility. The second type of auction is where bits and pieces or boxes are auctioned off individually. This type nearly permanently uses a paid auctioneer. Typically, the best bits and pieces are brought out and auctioned off individually and then the residue in the unit is auctioned off as a total. Please note that there may be variations of these two types and that a facility may use a mix of the two. Evenly, it isn’t worth taking a chance on what is left. We have spent many hours at these types of auctions only to come home empty handed. We tend to avoid these type auctions like the plague. On the other hand, auctions where total units are sold go quickly and we nearly permanently win at least one bin. We can have extra cash in our hands as early as later that day if we work hard, quick, and smart. As general resellers, we can make use of nearly everything in the unit that is clean and in working order. The other person that may do better at the second type of auction is anyone who cannot handle the physical labor of cleaning out a total unit. We make excellent cash doing just that but there is physical work and would not be the best choice for a name who has a terrible back or is in ill shape.
